102 caps - legend
Clinton Morrison's days as an Irish internation player are long since over. Gone too are the days of throwing Gary Doherty up front an pumping the long ball up to him.
Stephen Elliott looked to be the part, but injuries got in his way. Since then, the emergence of Kevin Doyle and Shane Long have removed him from international consideration.
"So Roy, what do you think of Venables getting the Ireland job?"
"uhh, well I think he's a great manager & other diplomatic platitudes"
"Thanks Roy"

"No regrets, none at all. My only regret is that we went out on penalties. That's my only regret. But no, no regrets." -Mick McCarthy
All that can be said is thank God you're not going to be our next manager. Clinton Morrison has achieved more in the last two months that Shane Long has achieved in his career. As much as Long may have potential, few could say he has truly 'emerged'. Clint has something like 6 goals in his last 5 games and has rarely failed to perform for Ireland. I would like to see, and believe, that he will return to the squad when the new manager comes in if he can maintain his current performances.

clint should be in the squad anyway...he has earned a recall
