Ollie may have gone to Shels but as a player he's not as good as his early days even for Shels. just an opinion.
To me, he's been a disappointment. His undoubted skill has been too inconsistent for Shels. The Red Jury is out - some think he's a God, some think he's too anonymous.

That his problem, Shels fan know how he can play but he seems to have lost the spark by all means he should be better than 5 years ago he's full time training but it just seems to be missing. Pity there was a time you asked any manager in the LoI who would the want from any other team and most would of said Ollie.Originally posted by Dricky

Not anymore.
If Ollie were ever to play for City again it would have to be a marked improvment or then he wouldn't be giving it all. I think Shels fan know what the City fans felt like with Ollie, frustraded at seeing Ollie preform like he was 35.
It's only just begun...............

I think trax is out by a season. Wasnt me that said that, I was there for the monaghan game.
going back to the money question, he may not be set for life but if the reports in the papers at the time,
68,000 signing on bonus and 1,000 per week then he's doing better then i am. i know in the long term you need more security, but money was definitely a big issue with him at the time.
Newspaper reports for Jason Byrne's transfer, gave the fee as six figures. It was more like a quarter of that.
I think you can take it 68,000 is pretty wide of the mark. Ollie Byrne may be the Antichrist, but he's no mug!![]()

get printing those JUDA$ A4 sheets for Ollie
he'd be dissapointed if he was forgotten so soon
life is random
well if city gave him more money then maybe you all have apont but they didnt so why should he have stayed around?
if a club dosnt value a player as much as his worth then they can take a hike! and pay the price of not having his nservices at all.
so tuff bloody luck
Excellently put Troy, can't argue with any of that.Originally posted by Troy.McClure

Keep up the Juda$ chants tonight folks. Even if you think they a bit harsh it put Ollie off his game everytime they played city last season.
Who knows Ollie may even be on the bench.

Soko your a ckeeky c**t.I stand by my point. At the time we were going nowhere and Ollie was carrying us. How much does money really have an influence in the El??!!It's not as if he's set-up for life cos he went to Shels. You're telling me that if you were doing more work than anyone else in your job and you were'nt being paid for it you would be happy to stay????
My apologies, I forgot you were responsible for running CCFC at that time period. Cork City left him go in the end because they did not want a player who was willing to blackmail the team playing for them and rightly so. Those shower of w@nkers belong up in jackeen land.
Yours is an opinion, that is a fact. City could have offered OlliŁ the same money when they were coming back with a new offer but did'nt want to.
You also contradict yourself saying he left for a club showing more ambition but then say he left to get the contract he 'Deserves'. All he deseves is a kick up the hole from Hoggie tonight.
