    Exclamation Open Meeting

Lads today I was approached by a member of the Supporters Club who told me to tell all members of foot.ie that that there is an open meeting taking place in the coming weeks. A date is yet to be decided and all members of foot.ie will be left know in the next couple of days when the meeting is taking place.
It is a chance for new members to join the SC so I would feel it would be nice for all members of foot.ie to attend and try cancel out our recent criticisms. Basically what the SC want is new ideas and they feel the people here are great idea generators.

why dont they make themselves known here and we could have an open discussion, will never get people to a meeting only way to get people there is if its an agm and we can vote out the existing comittee and bring in people we trust and know
sc club is like the masons nobody knows them, they seem to have no direction or mandate and nobody trusts them

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to come up with a few decent ideas, they seem to be solely there to take care of the money from the lotto which is basically collected for them and to have badge of honour for getting in free to home and away games

in reality the sc should be totally independent of the main club committee but instead they are in there pockets

we should either all attend the agm and vote in people we feel will do the job properly or else form an independent supporters club
to get voted in at the moment all you need is attend the agm aand your in this is wrong it should be offered openly to all to join and should be a proper vote

ahlone for example have a proper club, set up by real fans who love the club not the trappingas associated with it, the coots i think it is called an independent group whos first priority is the fans not butering the clubup
prime example was the issues of buses for athlone that should have been a given for the biggest game in years instead it took this forum to get it sorted

this is my views and i solemnly believe this and have the right to express my view , so please respect me

I have had issues with the SC and I won't deny that. I was shocked when I came out of the toilet in Ramblers to see someone from the supporters club waiting for me and then referring to me not by real name but BY MY FOOT.IE NAME!
I'm willing to give it a try. I'm going to attend this meeting because I feel that a breakaway SC will split the club. It's a bad idea for a club as small as Ramblers.
In relation to SC members coming on foot.ie, I spoke to another SC member who is in the process of joining and is now just waiting for broadband and a new computer.

this is all very good at least there making an effort to get more involved.... victory parade today was attended by 200 or 300 hundred.... quite embarrasing really walking threw town twice i got stopped and asked what was this for....

not everybody on the island reads the inside cobh lads (not the SC im blaming here) but i didnt see one poster around town all week... on saying that i dont use the fota road to get to college so fill me in if theres posters out there..... id say it was embarrassing for the players with such a low turnout.

No doubt it was embarrassing for the players, i myself felt a bit embarrassed walking through the town behind the lads. But as you say at least they are trying to connect with the fans.

sc club is like the masons nobody knows them, they seem to have no direction or mandate and nobody trusts them

spot on, bout time they pulled the finger out, next season is going to be huge for the club and its time for all involved to capitalise on promotion, if they feel the need to get foot.ie members involved for their ideas then that must mean they are not up to the job themselves IMO

not there fault but the iisuue here is the supporters club and promotions dept should be working together for the good of the supporters and team instead there is no communication
the parade is on at one no three, there is no buses going no there is two going, the monaghan game is on saturdayno sorry sunday, anybody starting to get the picture
not going to blame individuals it is the fault of the structures set down over the years, suuporters club was and is run as the financial helper to the club not run as a club for the supporters, who can name the sc committee(prob some hiding here somewhere) i surely cant as for stopping someone outside toilet and giving them messages for the forum that is stuff you see in other clubs about ten years ago

comeon and pull the finger out this is a season where we have a chance to set a foundation in place to make this club grow and increase the fan base so please help dont hinder it and throw spanners inthe works
some great ideas were posted herein the suggestions thread its not hard to read them and act on them
not one of the ideas is going to cost alot it just needs someone to stand up be counted and get things moving no buck passing

I'm not blaming them either. I'm only the messenger here. All this was thrown at me today and I said i'd oblige and pass on the message.

I think we can get it started, only if all fans work together. Theres an SC there. Its about time we made use of it. Maybe if I join i'd be able to get a ticket to the dinner dance.

seriously though this club would frustrate the life out of ya, all talk no action
we can come up with ideas till mojo comes home but nobody will act on them
we should get a number of people from this forum onto committee, seems to be will to progress here . sick of same old lines being trotted out blah blah blah
