    PFAI unveil award nominees

    First Division nominees:
    Conor Gethins (Finn Harps)
    Shane Guthrie (Cobh Ramblers)
    Tony Shields (Finn Harps)

    Referee nominees:
    Conor Fitzgerald
    Alan Kelly
    Paul Tuite

Great to see a Ramblers player nominated for Player of the Year. I thought it would have been Kevin Murray but Gutsie deserves his nomination too.
As for the referees listed above I wouldn't give it to any of them. Fitzgerald refereed our game vs Athlone and was awful.

Eircom League of Ireland First Division Team of the Year 2007:
    James Gallagher (Finn Harps)
    Alan Carey (Cobh Ramblers)
    Shaun Holmes (Finn Harps)
    Tony Shields (Finn Harps)
    Pat Purcell (Limerick 37)
    Shane Guthrie (Cobh Ramblers)
    James Chambers (Shelbourne)
    Conor Sinnott (Wexford Youths)
    Conor Gethins (Finn Harps)
    Graham Cummins (Cobh Ramblers)
    Davin O'Neill (Cobh Ramblers)

    Gallagher
    Carey Purcell Guthrie Holmes
    Chambers Sinnott Shields O'Neill
    Gethins Cummins

4 from Ramblers on the team of the year which to me looks like a 4-4-2 line up. Delighted for Carey, Gutsie, Dav and Graham all of them deserve it I can't help feel Murray was robbed. Very surprised to see a Wexford player there. I'd say the football writers team will be completely different.

Murray definitely robbed but I would also feel sorry for John Meade, had a superb season, the entire defence should have been the ramblers back 4

Murray will be forever welcome in Cobh. He can now walk into any pub in Cobh without his wallet and leave the pub tanked.
