Dr. Ogba - cans should be alright as it's not as ODI, as long as you're discreet. Yes, it's a 50 over game. All the info you need here:

Those aren't bad figures, Bob, what do you bowl?

I'm sure it's better than my legspin with all the variations (long-hop, full toss, half-volley.)
Is that Junior 2 you're in? I see your firsts got trounced by North County in the DGM (Strydom 170)

Only just found out that Ireland v Notts is on Sky Sports 3
Couldn't make it out, I'm watching it on my phone. Notts 116-5 in difficult conditions. 35 overs down.

Ireland lost by 56 runs. Not the worst performance considering the relatively weakened and inexperienced line-up. Ireland bowled okay (particularly Kevin O'Brien) but Notts' 217/9 was always going to be too much on an uncharacteristic Clontarf greentop. Irish batting wasn't brilliant, bar a decent partnership between White and Cusack.

Porterfield i thought batted well but all in all i think we're very short on experienced batsmen at this level
from cricket europe:
RAVI Rampaul, the West Indies pace bowler, will be named in the Ireland squad for next weekend’s Friends Provident Trophy double header away to Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
The 23 year old, who has taken 25 wickets in 30 one day internationals at an average of 36 runs each, is National Coach Phil Simmons’ belated choice as overseas professional for the remaining seven games in the one-day competition against the counties.
He is likely to be a straight swap for Andre Botha who sees a specialist today, for blood tests, as the all-rounder continues to struggle with an elbow and ankle problem. Next weekend's squad will be announced after Botha's results come through. He was unable to bowl in yesterday’s seasonal opener at Clontarf against Nottinghamshire, Ireland’s first game in the Midlands Group.
The result may have been predictable - a 56 runs victory for the county side - but Ireland were by no means disgraced in an encouraging performance.
They may have scored only 161 but it was against probably the best attack in county cricket. Ireland knew they would be facing Ryan Sidebottom, because he was named in the original 12-man squad, but they learned late on Saturday night that Stuart Broad, his England opening bowling partner, had also flown in with the team and he also took his place in the starting line-up. Add the impressive 6ft 5ins frame of Charlie Shreck the seam-up of Mark Ealham and the off spin of Graham Swann and this was as good as Ireland will face all year.
The players were determined to be positive and William Porterfield scored three boundaries in the first six overs, as many as the Notts side managed in their first 15. But although Ireland enjoyed a favourable comparison in the pace of runs in the match, the wickets were always a problem. After 40 overs, Notts were 143 for five, Ireland were 142 for seven and when Gary Wilson played round a straight one in the next over any momentum the hosts had was lost.
Andrew White was top scorer with 30, from 40 balls, including two reverse sweep fours, but his run-out must have frustrated Simmons and new captain Porterfield. Playing a ball straight to mid-on, he set off for a single and had no chance of making his ground at the other end. The third umpire was asked to confirm the decision but White was halfway back to the pavilion by the time the big screen showed OUT for the first time in a game in Ireland.
Of the other batsman, Reinhardt Strydom struggled for 34 balls before Ealham put the North County opener out of his misery, Paul Stirling, on his one-day debut, looked good for 10 balls but, attempting to get off the mark holed out to mid-on, Botha hobbled to 21 and Kevin O’Brien was caught behind for a 12-ball duck.
Alex Cusack continues to give the impression he will succeed more often than he will fail in the Ireland middle order and Kyle McCallan, one of the best No 9s in the business, was undefeated on 20, a score matched only by Cusack, when Phil Eaglestone’s first innings for Ireland ended the home resistance.
With the ball, Eaglestone took his first wicket in his fifth over, with the classic opening bowler’s delivery, the ball taking the outside edge to the wicket-keeper but there wasn’t enough of them and, on the day, he and Tbinus Fourie were the most expensive bowlers.
Rampaul’s new ball partner at Grace Road on Sunday could be Kevin O’Brien, who produced his best one-day figures for Ireland as Notts were reduced to 19 for three. The Railway Union all rounder took two for 14 in his first spell of eight overs and deservedly added two more, at a cost of 17 runs in the last two overs of the innings.
Aussie professional Adam Voges led the Notts fight back with 60 but the match-winning innings was played by skipper Chris Read who with both bat (45) and gloves (three catches) showed he merits a return to the England team.
For Ireland it was the first step in what promises to be a steep learning curve in the competition. The next seven games come in the space of 25 days.

Ireland lost both bank holiday weekend fixtures in the Friends Provident Trophy, but were disgraced in neither. Yesterday, they restricted Leicestershire to 251 at Grace Road and posted 212 in reply, a losing margin of 39 runs. Andrew White scored 52 and Gary Wilson 58.
At the County Ground today, Ireland's Niall O'Brien racked up 75 off just 129 balls; unfortunately, he was playing for Northamptonshire. Ireland had been put in to pat and managed 203-9, thanks to a very encouraging 70 from teenager Paul Stirling. His fellow youngster James Hall managed 22 with the bat and 1-22 with his offbreaks as Northants chased the Irish total down with 7.4 overs to spare. Ireland's overseas player Ravi Rampaul hasn't impressed so far, taking 2-99 overall in his first two games.
Scotland restored some pride for the Associates by defeating Lancashire by 2 runs at Old Trafford. At one point, Lancs were 44-7.
