    Goal of the season

EL Weekly's goal of the season.

Kevin McHugh's goal Vs. Bohs won it. It was announced on 'Sports Tonight' last night.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Bit of a joke really...most of the goal of the month competitions were better!!!
Most of the goals in their list happened in the last few weeks...Definately not a great selection by Eircom League Weekly..
I thought that Matthew Judge's goal for Sligo at home to ShamrocK Rvs should have won...To be fair Vinny Sullivans goal away to Galway a few weeks ago was twice as good as McHugh's and wasn't even in the shortlist...

Very odd selection - there were some superb goals scored this season.

It was a good cup winning goal though. The selection shown there is pretty poor fare. Interesting that Cassidy's for Rovers was selected when it was arguably bettered in the game by McHugh's equalizer.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls

Just thought of something - I heard that a lot of the ELW footage is sent in by fans of the club and then sent back to the fans after broadcast. Is it possible that TV3 don't have any footage left from earlier in the season

Yes it is distinctly possible. And RTE wiped a lot of sports footage in a bizarre attempt n
to save money, by reusing video tape, back in the 1960's and 70's and there is very little League of Ireland footage left from these periods now.

Best goal of the seaosn was Paddy Mc Courts goal in the semi-final of the league cup. Unfortunately TV 3 only show the goals they have on camera.

    Kirbys goal vs cork
    http://www.stpatsfc.com/watch_video.php?id=56

O Neills is a screamer too but kirbys lob is class.

    gibsons goal vs rovers

http://www.stpatsfc.com/watch_video.php?id=82 couple of minutes in would say what minute but it ruins the fun of watching someone destroy Rovers 5-0 and not a ****ing peep out of them on any website proclaiming their godliness. personally i think gibsons 2nd goal the on where we toyed with rovers and created a team goal was better but most pats fans reckon the volley was better

As opposed to the ones they have an artist's impression of?
