Sligo Rovers can confirm, as of 6 January, that 10 players have committed to the club for the 2010 season.
The following players have re-signed from last season's squad:
Richard Brush, Alan Keane, Danny Ventre, Gavin Peers, Eoin Doyle, Conor O'Grady and Matthew Blinkhorn.
Chris Turner has joined from Dundalk, Padraig Amond has signed from Shamrock Rovers and Gary McCabe leaves Bray Wanderers for The Showgrounds.
The club is still in talks with other members of the 2009 squad with a view to joining for the new campaign.
Meanwhile, Raffaele Cretaro has agreed terms with Bohemians, Brian Cash has signed for St Patrick's Athletic and Rob Turner has joined Welsh side Rhyl.
The club would like to wish the players success with their new clubs.
great signing if it happens. don't think anyone can doubt hs footballing ability
G'wan Faz
Great player, would love him back.
Smart too, he knows not to stop running because Foyzer really wants to eat him, not celebrate.
If you do a decent photoshop job, that would be a fitting image to a field of flowers, Faz and Foyzer skipping through the daisies, Foyzer having already eaten all the plants thinking they were scallions.
Faz might be the former player being rumoured, would be a good signing. I don't think sligoman is much of a fan of him though ?
Coleman for Ireland
Hopefully Faz realises he's terrible at football and retires before we get him to sign the contract...
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Fair play to Bohemians for putting a stop to Pat Fenlons transfer, who do Dundee United think they are coming in with Mickey Mouse compensation for Pat Fenlon. The guy had three years to go on his contract and they offer 100,000 Euro, British clubs have been getting away with this carry on for years and fair play to Bohemians for standing firm. In fairness to Pat Fenlon he has stated all along that if Bohemians were not satisfied with the deal then he would not be satisfied. It seems the line of succession will have to go back in to retirement for the moment.
plus no danger of them (bohs) looking for cooke either .
Where will he play?, with Almond and Blinkhorn up front and Turner and O'Grady in midfield, Faz is poor on the wing, I'd prefer if Cooke signed a good center-half
