    Grunter:Genius or Idiot?

So then, that's two competitive games in a row The Grunting One has made first half substitutions and changed his tactics (Latvia away and Longford). Which school of thought are we to believe? Is Grunter the brave, inciteful boss who realises he's made a mistake and has the balls to admit he's wrong and make the changes, or is he a clueless idiot who wouldn't know a tactic if it dropped it's pants and shat down his throat?
Sadly, I believe only the most reatrded of the goldfish on this site would side with the first. City have been put in the hands of a man who is clearly out of his depth and has only survived this long on the old boys network, who aren't getting any younger. The board must also take a share of the blame for yesterday's humilliation for their failure to get City some competitive games in pre-season. It's great fun knocking up cricket scores against local sides, but as Longford showed, their 2 and a half games pre-season against Cardiff, Brighton and that Dutch side held them in much better stead.
Quip you way out of this one, boys.

    Thumbs down Roddy in disguise?

There seems to be some similarities with Roddy Collins as i saw him make changes in the 1st half when things not working out too. Don't know what this tells us though?

I'm not going to join the Gunther out brigade yet but surely the club could have arrnaged a few friendlies with at least 1st division teams like Limerick & Waterford? Then again its a wonder the club can organise anything except for Inter-toto junkets in June. Sure why watch your team in Longford when can charter a plane to latvia

    Unhappy

My fears that Liam Murphy's unbeaten managerial record hid the true story were confirmed not in Flancare Park but back in the Cross at the Metalurgs game. When he took over he drafted Flanagan and Hartigan back to the first team and concentrated on making city tough to beat. While these old tactics are effective in allowing a team to hold its own, they will never enable City to catch up with the Dublin teams and now the likes of Longford too.

In Europe these negative tactics are even more futile. As seen against Metalurgs at home, Murphy deployed only Hartigan alone up front for a hour, in which time City had not one shot on goal. Our main attacking tactic seemed to be to orcastrate a srcap and get Coughlan and the boys to intimidate the Latvians. The result of this pessimistic approach to football can only lead to defeat and more frustration for the City faithful.

Murphy got away with these tactics last season, sneaking several good results. There is no hope of finishing in the top 2 if the same dreary approach is used again. I believe every manager deseves a decent length to prove himself but he must at least show that he is trying to take a possitive approach. Letting go a young crafty player like David Moore over the Summer was a worrying sign. Its too early to boot out Gunther but things better pick up soon.

Is it true that the Bull McCabe is looking for a managerial post? One can only wonder about the exciting play he'd bring back to the Cross.

Excellent suggestion Snatch. McCabe would bring a bit of professionalism to the club. ATM we're rubbish on stilts resting
on Coco the Clown's shoulders. I nearly threw my computer
out the window - and I'm on the second floor- when I got the update from this site on Sunday from Flancare. At least William
Hague had the grace to go after defeat, can't Cork's answer to
    him follow suit?
    Murphy out now
