Big relatively in terms of history and support. Not too many small clubs win the European Cup. Certainly (from a size point of view although I tell my wife size isn't everything) should be in the top tier along with Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United and possibly The Blunts.

Southampton will be relegated after being deducted 10 points (if they don't avoid being in bottom 3 the 10 point deduction takes place next season in League One)

Championship team of the Year (only one Irishman):
Keiren Westwood (Coventry), Kyle Naughton (Sheff Utd), Roger Johnson (Cardiff), Richard Stearman (Wolves), Daniel Fox (Coventry), Michael Kightly (Wolves), Stephen Hunt (Reading), Joe Ledley (Cardiff), Jordi Gomez (Swansea, on loan from RCD Espanyol), Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (Wolves), Jason Scotland (Swansea).

Ooops. missed Kieran Westwood, the goalkeeper![]()

So it's the Blunts, the Clarets, Reading and Preston (Cardiff had been in the driving seat but lost to Wednesday in front of 30k at Hillsboro). Not sure which of Burnley or Reading I'd like to see get through - Burnley with Owen Coyle as manager and Reading with the Irish players.
How the "mighty" have fallen at the other end though with Soton, Norwich and Charlton all relegated.

Really surprised by the huge dip in form by Reading in 2009 when they looked odds on for automatic promotion at the end of 2008. Coppell has now resigned I believe.
Burnley, with a small squad and despite numerous games, have deservedly got to the play-off final and good luck to Owen Coyle. He's done a great job so far.

Hopefully Burnley can do it. I think they would compete well in the PL. Turf Moor could be a difficult place to go and I would definitley prefer to see them there than the yo-yo blunts (that was just for your benefit owls fan!!)

Claret Murph(I'll post this on here in the hope this thread is not hijacked) - I'll not be making the trip to wembley - to be honest since we hired thon loser Robsonhe ripped all emotion from the club & I haven't been back to the lane since our last time in the EPL hence I aint nowhere near as enthusiastic about this match as yourself but after the shenanigans of our last trip to the EPL I do think(from blades point of view) justice would finally be served if we won promotion back then used the money to buy Tevez -he's already paid for a new stand for us so why not play for us now to.
These days much prefer now to waste my money on away trips to watch Eire(much better craic) but also then means i've little money for anything else.
Sure I'll buy you a pint to console you in the airport before Sofia![]()
Cracking goal for Burnley there. It was such a calm finish, a bit like Carrick's in the Wigan match a few weeks back.

Abri o portão de ouro, da maquina do tempo.
Mi mamá me hizo guapo, listo y antimadridista.
Delighted for Owen Coyle and Burnley. They've been great to watch and not making the Carling Cup Final will seem like a small loss now.
I bet he won't be singing in the middle of the pitch with a microphone like a muppet either!!
Yes they do get what they deserve & when Zola heads of to chelsea & you lot have no money to buy players cause you will have paid all your transfer kitty money to Sheff Utd & you have to sell all those youngsters & end up relegated can I be the first to say to you "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, "
By the way the best team won on the day, there are no complaints & good luck to Burnley next year. But also answer me this question the london media have been pedalling all week - Who will sheff utd sue now over this????
If that is the case, fine because our owners will have screwed up the club etc a la Newcastle and we will have to live with that
I have been through relegation as a fan loads of times and is isn't nice - and I would hate to be a blade this evening - but equally Mr McCabe and the others have corrupted the way sport should work
DB Cooper is alive !
Gutted for Sheffield United.
Nice to see Newcastle down in the Championship. Should guarantee some good gates all round.

Funnily enough the Owls beat Burnley twice, scoring 4 on each occasion so will be sad to see them go as well.
Prior to last season's 6 points, last double over Sheffield United was 91 years ago. What is the liklihood of it happening again next season? 91/1 perhaps?
Other than Leicester, not much strength coming up from the 1st Division (Scunthorpe and Peterboro).
