Does anyone know if 77 points is a record for the 1st Division?

It is the highest I think in the last 10 years but am wondering about before that.

It is the highest ever points total for the First Division. Finn Harps managed 76 in 2004. However, that was played over 33 games, rather than 36 this season.

how bad another record for us, we beat our old record of 58 points in a season alright, nice to have that to,

Fantastic result, was getting texted on progress, or lack of it in the first half. Sitting 300 miles away and my nerves were going like the clappers. When I heard we were 1 nil up, kept looking at the clock and it seemed an age before confirmation of the result. The 11 o'clock news on RTE radio give a report and said the crowd was 2,000 with 600 Ramblers. Presume there was more than that from Cobh.

Certainly wasn't 2,000 there. Stand holds 2,000 and it wasn't near full. 600 wouldn't be too far off for the Cobh crowd. Stand was pretty well split in half between Town and Cobh fans.

Lads I have to say the support was absolutely excellent last night. I couldn't believe it and as for the players they were all outstanding. I thought Shane Barrett was class but was outshone by Alan Carey(what a man!) right when u needed a captains performance he steps up to the plate and he plays the game of his life.
Credit to Gutsie and Murray aswell absolutely. Murray getting the winner and Gutsie playin on with a broken nose. Thats commitment. I still can't believe we won!!!!!!!!!!!

My estimate was based on noise....
Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes. Brian Clough

I travelled up to this to lend a bit of support( regretted it Sunday!), Must have been 500/600 Cobh fans. Was great to see them so happy at the final whistle, especially before we inflict utter misery and pain on them next year :P

Well Done to All, enjoy your moment in the sun.
