Is he any good, Magicme ?
"Monaghan United’s goalkeeping star of the 2007 season, Barbados International Goalkeeper, Alvin Rouse, is set to move to Premier Division team Galway United. Rouse played 24 games for the Mons and put in some fine performances between the posts. He will be sadly missed by United and had become a fan favourite in his season with the club. Monaghan United wish Alvin all the best in the Premier Division and with his future footballing career."
Not sure if all is finalised but he seems to be leaving us for yourselves. Look after him, he's a good one.
Is he any good, Magicme ?
Yes. Like all keepers he has the odd dodgy match but in general he was excellent. Organises his defence well and is almost unbeatable in the air (must be coz he is 6'7"!). Good shot stopper and almost had that penalty saved against Athlone only for wet conditions making the ball slippy.
I believe he will more than likely be your reserve keeper but he is a solid guy and will be sadly missed around here.
Yeah thats him Vinchenzo. You stopped laughing long enough to read the post then?
Just coz he is coming from us doesnt make him a joke. Johnny Lester used to play for us too.
They didnt nickname him Banana. He nicknamed himself that as a kid of about 7 or 8. I used to play Gwen Steffani "Hollerback Girl" for him sometimes and get the kids at our game to sing "his name is banana b-a-n-a-n-a"
You are forgiven, this time Vin. Just ask around and you will know how lucky you are to have escaped unscathed by my wrath!

Banana's a legend. Good enough first division keeper but can't see him making an impact in the Premier, even as back-up keeper. Still, it's great to see he's getting the chance.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
With all the players retained and the addition of the two u21s, we already have a squad of 18 for next season. I can't see any more than 3 or a maximum of four signings between now and next March.
Less Whining
Less Moaning
What are YOU doing to make it better?
At least four needed. The two U21s and Banana are bench material. Faherty and Treacy haven't shown yet that they can make an impact.
We will be fielding a team in the A League next year, as well as the U-20 League (successor to U21 League).
I presume that the above five, plus some local players will be in the "A" panel.
We will probably need a minimum of 40 players in total - some will be in more than one squad at any given time.
Not a greta goalie, but what a legend!
