I forgot our contribution to the development and upkeep of Terryland and Drom does not come cheap but it is a world class facility.
No problems with the 65% wage cap for GU then. The expense levels do seem particularly high though.

You know what else is getting boring? You're admonishment of anyone who comes on here and refuses to adopt the 'tra la la la la, everything is wonderful' attitude that you have. You can't grow stronger unless you address your faults. You can't address them unless you pinpoint them. So refusing to see anything is wrong will mean we will not progress.
"Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
I never said everything was perfect and would be a fool to believe it was. We have moved on steadily as a club over the last 4/5 years by building year on year.
Some of the posters on here use the forums to have a pop at people players and Tony in Particular some of it is warranted but some is totally over the top and a lot of untruths in their too.I dont mind people having a pop when they have a gripe about whats going wrong but some players seem to get it in the neck all the time which is very unfair.

Most posters have nothing personal against the management and staff.
We just want the club to do well and are pointing out highlights, strengths, weaknesses and deficiencies throughout the season.
A interesting statistic - two of our full-time professional strikers have played 34 Premier Division games between them this season. They have scored no goals.
I'm sure that they are nice lads, and are very passionate about the club, as is the manager. But facts are facts, and there has to be an improvement next year.
very good point

I've been saying that to him for about a year.He choses not to listen.
It is awful annoying then when your support is questioned simply because we don't think the management or certain players are up to scratch.
As i said on the other forum gufct your counter arguement is based on beliefs.
Mine, and many others, are based on facts.
Keith Kelly has done an excellent job on reprting the games accurately this year.He has quite correctly said it hasn't been good enough on numerous occasions and that the majority of our play has been hoofball-which entitles us to wonder what exactly is been done in drom.
The manager should also be based in Galway.Simple as that.

according to Football manager theres a jimmy cousins![]()
There's the right way, the wrong way.... and the Max Power way!! :-D
Youth Development Officer : Bartley Barrett
Team Doctor : Dan Murphy
U21 Manager : Billy Clery
U21 Assistant : Gareth Gorman
U21 Goalkeeper Coach : Mark Cobey
GUST LFC Manager : Lonan O'Farrell
GUST Nightowls Manager : Ronan Coleman
the weak link in that lot there is Ronan Coleman. Our budget should be spent getting a new night owls manager,he barely kept them up last season
.
A Coleman/Clery managerial dream team would do the trick.
Clerys tactical knowledge and experience, combined with Colemans
ability to shout "Come on United, get into them" at regular intervals,
would work wonders for morale.
On the evidence of some of the "tactics" we've deployed this season TC must have got one or two of his licences out of a lucky bag.
There's no point of getting a few new good players and then bypassing them by hoofing it up front every time.
I'll fully support TC if he is still in charge next year but he has to change alot of aspects and alot of his own methods.
There's no point of taking the narrow view of "Sure didn't we finish 8th and stay up?"
The reality is the football was very poor in Terryland this year and we won a paltry 3 games....a2 of which have come in the last month.
People won't turn up week in week out if we're not going to attempt to play football. We've seen that we can do it and we have a few very good players-so again it goes back to TC as to why we don't produce it most weeks(0bviously not all).
The most important signing in the off season is a Coach.

To be fair Conor, I think you're pretty selective on what you remember. In Waterford I thought we played very good football and when we beat Longford we played very well in the second half.
You've obviously seen more games than me but I don't think we just hoof the ball at every opportunity.
I'd agree that Tony should be based in Galway. If he wants to be the full-time manager of a full-time club then he can't be worried about anything else. If the job doesn't suit him he shouldn't have taken it.
The last time we were in the Premier was a complete shambles, we were drawing 0-0 in Monaghan and both teams were just hoofing the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. I shouted out "Have we no tactics at all?!" and the coach at the time stood up from the dugout, flapped his arms about a big and the players just kept hoofing it up. The game finished 0-0 and the players were happy to get a point after the game. Monaghan only got 11 more points that season, we only got 17 more.
That performance, like ours earlier in the season are probably more down to the players being under pressure and maybe even previous managerial influences.
Last season we played good football under Tony in Division 1 and given his playing career in the league I doubt he's a supporter of the Dermot Keely style of play.
It's all very well wanting the team to play like Brazil but the only team in the league which play consistantly good football is Cork and they're unhappy with Damien Richardson because at times that costs them points (like when we go there and put 9 men behind the ball!)
At this stage I think a lot of people have made up their minds and will give out no matter what he does, like giving out about 4-5-1 the last night.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"
