    Pat Dolan to City?

According to Mick Wallace in today's Wexford People, Pat Dolan is being offered the City job. Wallace said "Dolan has been offered mad money to go to Cork. , a minimum of €200,000 plus expenses. He might go if it fits in with his Setanta Sports' schedule". Further on he says "Derry wanted him to move up there, whereas Cork are not insisting on it, so obviously that would make a huge difference".

Any word down on Leeside? Personally, I'm not too bothered if he leaves us but from what I've heard from City fans in the past, would he be a popular choice down there? Can we swap The Fat Man for Rico, please??

Any sane City fan wouldn't entertain that swap for a second but the Rico situation is unclear still, some will say the gun is locked and loaded .... all we have to do yet is shot ourselves in the foot. Most successful manager we've ever had, and played some of the best football with a hugely depleted squad .

Based on poll from other forum vast majority of City fans with Internet access want Rico to stay put.

Dolan would be backward step unless he getting new mascot role. Personally He is the last person I would want as manager or any other role.

dolan i thought he was chucked out by lennox for negotiateing with potential new owners, ones city fans wanted at the time, and also didnt he assemble the team that won the league in 2005,

I'm coming out of foot.ie retirement just to say "Please God No" to Pat. Hoping Rico stays, but no matter what happens, no return to backpage hype management.

Pat Dolan is one of the shrewdest men I've ever met. I'd safely say that theres no money in the world would drag him away from what he's got now at Setanta. He's going forward ffs, why would he be the one to take a backward step?

Money and ego are the only things that drive him. Give him enough of both and he'd lick rain off a gutter for you...

I am holding off renewing my season ticket (and I am not alone either) until talk of the Phat man is gone.

I'd understand razor. Another two have said the same to me so Ramblers could have a few more fans.
Personally, I think it would be petty and I hate him.
If people are in doubts about his character, just think about how taking a job at CCFC, he'd know how many people he'd be rileing. Why do that?

what Dodge said, money and ego

    Link rain off a gutter?
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

Why would Queenstown have a few more fans? Anyone who'd 'change' to Queenstown, or any other LOI team for that matter, then, in my opinion they don't really get this following a team lark at all.
On the Dolan coming back thing I'd be the with Razor, if he comes back in any position, then I'll seriously reconsider renewing my season ticket.
Amazingly some of the more naive and impressionable CCFC fans still adore him.

Just to clarify there, I wouldn't be going to Cobh at any stage, just refuse to give the club my money up front. I couldn't stop supporting City.

Spot on. The way some people talk you'd swear twas like deciding to give up shopping at Tesco and change to Aldi.

Wouldn't be Dolan's biggest fan (dont have much time for manager's - think theyre all over rated) but no way would his return stop me going to the Cross to support City!

Could hardly see the new owners getting upset about a very small minority of people who didn't want Dolan back. After all, he revolutionised the club, put them back on the map, and handed Rico a championship winning squad that even he coulldn't fcuk up....

Sorry, what I wrote came across wrong. I've no intention of stopping going to City games whoever is there, or whoever is not there for that matter. I just wouldn't renew my season ticket and would be letting Arkaga know exactly why.
This might not be financially the brightest as now, for the first time there's a decent deal for season tickets, I'd be saving money by getting one. But while pat obviously thinks money is the be all and end all, that would not be my own belief.

And you know this is a very small minority how? I'd say you'd find it's a very small minority would welcome him back. I know a few City fans that want Rico out, but none of them have any time for pat and don't want him back in any position in the club.
While I know that a poll on a football forum isn't the most accurate (understatement, I know), there's a poll currently running on the City forum, where something like 10% want Rico out that leaves almost 90% who want him to stay at the club in some form or another, and the majority of them want him to remain as manager.
