Hope he recognises what a great bunch of young players we have in Cobh and picks them for the u23 side.
Didn't realise he was at the Dundalk game or at the shels game fair fecks to him.

I have to agree with depor about the SC. I agreed with him last night at the match and after some time to think about it i still do. A BREAKAWAY SUPPPORTERS CLUB seems to be the way forward as our current supporters club only organise a lotto draw and nothing else. They are useless.

Credit where credit is due to the lads last night they were shockin in 1st half but they were absolutely outstanding in the 2nd half. Well done Hendo and the boys.

A solution to the Supporters problem why don't we take names at the Monaghan game for a bus up and see how many names we can get? That way its open to all Rams fans.
Marco has the contact in the Shamrock Lodge hotel so he will have names for making reservations.

As a matter of curiousity is there anyone from the Supporters club on here?

theres a few points i have to make:
    1. when buses are run, or car trips for that matter, people will pull out, thats a fact of life. always was the way always will be.

    2. about the running at a loss???? the supporters club is for supporters, its not a profit making enterprise. the people of cobh give the money in the faith that it is used to support the SC and the football club. running buses is a form of helping the team.

    3. and ur final point about the ''unsupervised teens'' is right out of their book look tbh i am 23 so i drive to the games anyway, so i wouldnt use the buses all the time. the fact of the matter is this, members of the SC dont care about our young supporters because they travel up in the team bus. its a matter of feck them once we (SC members) are ok. theres a lot of hangers on and people looking for the free ride.

the real supporters are the people like us who travel to the away games on our own buck, not leeching from the club. i would also like to know where the money collected by the SC is going????

IS IT TIME TO START ANOTHER BETTER AND FAIRER SUPPORTERS CLUB, WHO GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE SUPPORTERS, AND ARE NOT JUST GOING ALONG FOR THE FREE WEEKENDS OUT ON BEHALF OF THE DONATERS TO THE SC.
    A Few points to make,
1 I am not on the committee of the SC.

2 If people ask for a bus and the SC then go to the trouble of organising one then common courtesy would say that the SC should be told as places would have been kept for the people that pulled out and those spaces could be given to someone else instead.

3 Your right that the supporters club is for the supporters.

4 The SC have been brilliant to the club over the years, they funded the stand at the top of the ground, they have also paid for a lot of other projects in the club ver the years and have taken out a substantial loan to help fund the new stand.

    5. Your last two comments about the Sc are way offside because there are a number of good people who have been involved over the years with the SC and who are still there who give up their spare time on a Saturday night to go and sell the lotto tickets which have funded a lot for the club over the years and I think those remarks should be withdrawn.

about ur 2nd point: i know it would be common courtesy to let them know if ppl pull out of trip, i never once said that it was acceptable that people just pull out without letting them know. all i said was that there are people that dont have common courtesy.

about your 4th point: im well aware of their contribution to the club, i wasnt on about the SC commitee of the past as they ran buses, aswell as pay for the east stand and much more.

about your 5th point: i dont think them comments should be withdrawn as i never once said all of the SC commitee in them comments. i said a few were going along for the ride.

my comments reflect what a lot of the travelling supporters felt last night.

not exactly brain science lads, if you want your name on a list for the bus you pay a deposit up-front, if you dont pay the deposit then your obviosuly tryin to pull the wool over peoples eyes sayin your following the team, when you have all the deposits in then you order a bus to acomodate the amount that have sgned up, plus about ten more for mind changers,
as for tickets, as said these people give there time to help the club but when there going round the ground selling tickets they dont ask people, they walk at a fair pace and if you wnat one you must know there names and and they must hear you when you call them (i havent bought them in a while cause of this and i think it rigged),
also marco seems to runing more SC stuff than the actual SC so a breakaway section doesnt seem like a bad idea to be honest

Can i ask a question and i dont want someone jumping down my throat as question is being asked out of ignorance.

What do the supporters club do?

I repeat that is a genuine question

Wel I no it was a friday night but I felt it was sad to see such a poor crowd of travelling supporters at the game Probally one of the most important fixtures of the season and with such a close finish to the league.

I think the commitee of the SC dont realise what exactily they doing wrong they need new members young or old with new ideas id love to be in the supporters club but unfortunatly with college and work I dont be in Cobh very often. Some time down the line I will be involved.
There are some older members of the sc with good intensions but are still living in the 1980s this needs to change and only us the supporters can do this.
If there are any members of the Sc that are on this site Id like if they printed this Thread off and brought it to the next meeting.

For our club changes have to be made in the close season.

Lets hope Harps play like this against Athlone and Kilkenny.

    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=K7QAaTh6VRk

It was 9-0 at half time i'll be absolutely delighted if Athlone are even 1 up at half time.

I haven't read all the posts above but an idea for going to away games would be that as soon as the new fixture list is available, albeit first or premier division, then the Supporters Club should action and post a list of in the club house of all away League games. All fees should be paid in advance (2 wks). The deposit business thingy should be forgotten about. Fees should be all paid up approx two weeks in advance of any away game. Doing this will enable the SC to establish a pretty good head count.

If the fixture list is posted in the Club house then there should be no excuses from either side, either about seats not being available or the SC not organising a bus. Supporters Clubs need to have very strong people onboard because there is alot of chasing people for this that and the other. Breakaway clubs are not the way to go lads. For one: The club won't recognise you and thats the single most important point I can stress.Just my two cents worth anyway. Oh......and NO. I'm not connected to the SC. Also we do need to keep in mind that the people involved in the SC do this outta the kindness of their hearts and give their free time for FREE.

Just thought I'd add in that last line because when I go for a quite pint I'd like it to stay that way

What if someone wrote an open letter to the SC and have it published in the Monaghan programme?

im still none the wiser as to what SC actually do, do they answer to the main committee or what, do they bring accounts to the AGM. Why dont we put up a letter here between us as i have no doubt that there is someone here who could print it off and give it to one of the SC committee

I'm still a little bewildered. What do you hope that sending in a letter about the SC will achieve? What is it people are so desperate to find out? Is it a case of now the people have achieved an EGM that its time to start on the SC or am I totally misreading this whole thing? Like I said before, these people give their time free. Are there people here who want to get them replaced for some reason or other? Thing is, are those that have brought this issue up willing to give their time as those in the SC are now?

I just don't get why this issue has arisen really...........

Possibly because of the teams performance attracting more fans, and the fact that all games are so important and people want to get there, yet no bus is run from club. Doesnt affect me personally thats why i havent added much to this one.
