Thank you Mr. Cowen for giving us the odd tenner or two extra in the budget. What you failed to mention was that, in the new financial year, bus/train/tram, M50, esb, gas, phone, and a+e charges will rise straight away, and swallow up the increase. Case of giving us a fiver and taking a tenner back, methinks.
Mind you, it's good to know that they've rejected the pay rise.

No, no, that was too good to be true, they've merely deferred taking it for a year, as if it's any more acceptable.
Next, they're out to rob us of our liberty, by signing the EU "Reform" Treaty, along with the other heads of EU States, that the French and Dutch electorate forced them to re-negotiate. For their sins, they won't be given the opportunity to say no on it second time around, so we are the only country to hold a referendum on it, and if it's passed, it could be the last EU one we have. And that's just for starters.
