MIDLAND MÊLÉE FOR MONS THIS WEEKEND
Monaghan United head to the centre of Ireland on Saturday to take on Athlone Town in the FAI eircom League of Ireland First Division. This will be a hard fought game as only goal difference keeps United ahead of Athlone in the table and the midlanders will be hoping that there will not be a repeat of their last encounter when Monaghan beat them 1-0.

The wonderful Athlone Town Stadium, will host United for only the second time this season. A 0-0 scoreline was the result from the last encounter at the new stadium but Mick Cooke & Co will be on a mission to get all 3 points to ensure that they stay ahead of “de Town” in the league. Kick off is at 7pm.

    MONAGHAN UNITED SUPPORTERS CLUB DRAW
As the date for the draw comes closer, all those wishing to support Monaghan United in this fundraiser are encouraged to get their tickets from the Monaghan United office Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm (call 047 84798) or from any committee member.

With a top prize of €10,000 up for grabs and a limited number of tickets available it is a great opportunity to help support local football and bag yourself some cash for Christmas.

    MONAGHAN UNITED LADIES FLAG DAY
Monaghan United Ladies will hold a flag day on Saturday 27th October in Monaghan Town and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Those who did not attend the meeting on Sunday should contact Padraig Cassidy on 087 6333503 to finalise arrangements.

Lets hope it is more exciting than the 0-0 played here earlier on in the season when neither keeper had a save to make for the entire 90 mins
