Has anyone here ever done any coaching badges?

Im hoping to do the FAI Intro. Course on goalkeeping over the Summer anyone have any info on what the courses are like?

I had planned to do the introduction course and wanted to do
the keepers one too - Had the forms and all but didnt bother in
the end.

Was talking to a Town player who done some and he said the
instructor had little or no time for people outside Dublin.
Im not actually part of any club either so I decided to give it a
miss.

Wish I'd gone through with it!

I did a coaching course foundation level a few years back with Colin O'Brien.

It was very good, it teaches you the way to teach young kids the basics, and gives you loads of tips on drills. It will show you the proper way to do a coaching session i.e. warm-up, stretching skills etc. highly recommended if you are coaching a team because it gives you loads of tips on drills which makes it alot easier to take sessions. I'd say the goalie's course would be on similar lines. If you get a chance you should do it it is only 10 hours induration. Usually spread over 2-4 days.

There is a huge demand for this ... Anyone that is anyway inclined to get involved would be doing well .

courses begin at introduction level and proceed level 1-3.
experienced players are allowed skip the introductory.
the level one entails 10 hours of on the ball work(5 diff modules,shooting,heading etc etc) and a year keeping a log book etc.
level 2 you gotta go to kings hospital for 2 weeks.(big money n i agree about the outside dublin bias)
level 3 is tough.
big money and a lot of assessment.incoporates fitness and a greater emphasis on tactics etc.
