...and they lost 4-0 to Millwall in the Championship, whereas fellow Irish right back Stephen Kelly played a full 90mins for Fulham in their 0-0 draw with Bolton in the Premiership. How Trap preferred McShane to Kelly against Argentina is a mystery. He shouldn't be next nor near our team/squad in all fairness.

"We lost because we didn't win"- Ronaldo
Interesting that Kelly was left full though. Foley started right full - they should be the starters imo if they hold down these positions for their clubs
Reading the Sun today (some people do), I came across this titbit from the Hull game.
"McShane put in a great shift for Hull and caused more problems than the highly-rated John Bostock - on loan from Tottenham - who looked lightweight against the Lions' no-nonsense defence."

McShane went off injured last night. I know this is a horrible thing to say, but i'm genuinely hoping this keeps him out of the irish matches
This could go on a while.
"Slight doubt" after picking up a hamstring injury is the latest.
A bit more on it here, although still somewhat vague: http://www.98fm.com/news-sport/sport...kpool-2508943/
Paul McShane limped out of Hull City’s Carling Cup loss to Brentford. He has a hamstring strain and faces a race against the clock to be fit for the start of Ireland’s Euro Qualifiers next month.
What a conundrum; I wouldn't ordinarily wish injury on any professional football player, but fecking 'ell, I don't want to see McShane play for Ireland again. I hope his injury keeps him out long enough for someone else to come in and take his place.
Paul McShane turns up for Ireland. He doesn't pick himself, he doesn't put himself on as a sub and he doesn't intentionally **** everyone off with his performances. In fact he wears his heart on his sleeve for Ireland and his brilliant attitude is probably one of the main reasons he gets a games consistently.
Shame on everyone here wishing injury upon the lad. Its up to the management and the other prospective right backs/centre backs to force McShane out of the team. Get well soon Paul.
Somebody doesn't like McShane!!!
I used to stick up for McShane on here but not any more. Wishing injury on a player might sound harsh but do we want to lose to Armenia because McShane either
1) forgets to pick up his man at a corner
2) gives their striker a free run on goal after passing the ball to him
3) makes a rash tackle inside our penalty box in injury time.
And either he's the best option in the squad, or Trapattoni doesn't know his right backs. I'm betting on the former, sadly.

You can't spell failure without FAI
World class attitude. Sunday league ability. That's our Paul.
But to be fair, the only person I'd ever seriously wish injury upon is Bill Gates. Momentarily, in a blue screen rage.
awful awful management to continue selecting mcshane but its not his problem, its poor lazy management on trapatonni and co. get well soon mcshane.
