Given <--- good player who plays for mid ranking PL team
Finnan <--- good player who plays for Top 4 PL team
Dunne <--- good player who plays for mid ranking PL team
McShane <---Championship player who has just made step up to lowly PL team
O'Brien <---- Assume Joey who has yet to establish himself in lowly PL team
Hunt/McGeady <----- Former plays for lowly PL Team and latter has failed to shine whenever he puts on the green jersey.
Reid <------- Andy failed at SPurs but now playing in Championship.
Reid <--- Stephen. Yet to prove himself due to injury in PL for mid ranked team.
Duff <-------- unlikely to play again
    Keane/Long <---------- average PL strikers
    Doyle/Long <------- ditto

Give that team a right go at the WC with a good manager and we have a shot. But not with Stan "The Gaffa" Staunton
    World beaters ok

    Well Ireland are out of the Competition; Wales are out of the competition; Northern Ireland are almost out of the Competition; Scotland and England could be following all of us on the way out of the competition;

and if its not bad enough, id say weve slipped down the rankings so much well be lucky if were 4th seeds for the world cup draw, imagine who well get, even if stan goes, the next sorry person the FAI gets will have some challenge on his hands takin over from ginger snaps,
so where was stan when the FAI plucked him up, was it assistant manager in league two, so the next manager will be, a manager in the confrence, in all fairness what the f**k are these idiots doin even being assosciated with our FA

that's actually probably not as bad an idea as it sounds. i mean, it would be four games against our kinda level opposition. in fact, it could be organised as a bi-annual tournament for whatever home nations don't qualify.

I just feel so let down tonight, never so badly in my life, from a footballing point of view.

I don't agree with booing your own, never have, never will. Thats all I'm saying about that.

To sit there, watch a bunch of lads knock a ball about, then give it away and let the weaker away side have it, it just sickened me. The complete lack of passion and drive in that team tonight broke my heart. When you follow the boys in green over land and sea, through thick and thin, then become subjected to that absolute dross, its a bit much to take. That performance was a disgrace to the green shirt. Its not just down to the manager, its those players too. Being a 'decent premier league player' will only get you so far if you play with absolutely no heart. I'm just sickened.

As much as I hate mentioning his name, we badly miss a Keane type player to drag us out of that mire tonight.

pretty big lack of atmosphere too though. the only people who picked up singing near us when we started singing were three teenage girls. the rest, predominantly fortysomething males, refused to sing.

just out of curiosity ..when enough is enough how do you let the management fai even players know that you are not happy or that this type of performance is unacceptable if you don't boo........I don't agree with booing in general and wouldn't if this was a one off...but this performance is actually what we have come to expect and actually get served up during this campaign ..then booing is perfectly acceptable particularly tyhe way delaney puts spin on criticism...he is in no doubt now how the fans feel

I was at the game last night and was thinking about this very thing. In my eyes actively booing your own team during 90 minutes play is definitely wrong. I was raging as much as anyone else but I could not bring myself to booing my own players or booing for any reason while play is going on. I mean there were fans at the game last night booing us when an attack broke down or someone mis controlled a ball...what purpose does that serve? They are not playing **** on purpose.

So, anyway I was thinking is there any other way to show our displeasure other than booing our own team while they are representing us on the pitch and I came up with an idea that definitely would have shown our frustration, but without rallying against our own team during the game.

What if instead of fans leaving early and then flooding out on the final whistle we stayed were we were and chanted for the next 30 minutes 'We want Delaney Out / We want Staunton Out' etc.
This would have got massive coverage because it is not the normal way that these things go down and would sure as hell have got our message across.

I think wheter Staunton is gone or not come the Wales game this is what those of us going to that game should still do. We need to get rid of the powers that be, they can't get away with it yet again - they are destoying the soul of our national team. I am dreading going to that game and having to sit through fans venting their frustrations during the game and getting on our players backs. So, why don't we back the lads during the game and then come the final whistle vent all our frustrations in a 30 minute demonstration?

I think it would be a powerful message and only wish I had thought of it before these home games and got the ball rolling on it because it would have been perfect after last nights shambles.

I think a rake of 'Delaney out' and 'FAIlure' type banners in Cardiff is a must, since they're not allowed in Croke park....!

I agree, im heading over to Cardiff and would be on for making up a banner to show our disgust at the current set-up.
Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.
    Homer: Woo-hoo. Four-day weekend

    He'd probably fine the club.

I wholeheartedly endorse any anti-Delaney/Staunton flags.
