haha... Very good
In fairness, I do agree to such an extent, but the year I was over the A team with the Dines, I had Gerry Duggan down to do the pre-season training for us as a favour to me, and I must say, I was embarressed with our turn out.
I signed 35 (yes 35) players at the start of that season, the reason being that there was no B team that season, and also no minor team, and only one decent under 17 player good enough, and we still struggled to field a team towards the end of that season, but we still managed 3rd place in the league and only lost out on promotion by 3points (just goes to show if all the players signed had shown a bit more interest, what they could have acheived).
But like I said above, I could name a team of ex Dines players that would, in my opinion, beat any team in town today........
are you in that 11 alan
ah honesty,a rare quality these days![]()
ger collopy, tommy barrett, chucka, mike carey, john carey, alan morton, darren walsh, lou quigley, christy o neill, conor keane, alan barry, keith mac nichlas, derek hannon, derek o neill, leonard o grady, martin wallace, aled harkin, donie curtin...as far as i know...all former dines players that moved on and played premier...might be missing a few, might have one or two wrong...you'd make the eleven alan
ya i remember it well, think he did a couple of very good sessions with us,i remember later in the season we struggled for numbers out in the villliers,as i said I would never put it down to management as any people i played under gave 110%,same can't be said for all the players unfortunately
1 season with the dines doesnt make you a dines man in all fairness or are ye counting guys who drank in the track aswell?
not saying all the above players were dines thru and thru but some were...just sayin these are very good players that geraldines couldn't keep, and i'm sayin that because it's an ongoing scenario wit schoolboys we're producing each year...we've a good team now...next season who knows?? when the forms come out anythin can happen
