    Query

    Quick Question!!!

I thought that if a game was called off that the fixture was reversed and therefore the home team lose home advantage???

You only lose home advantage where the game is called off twice I think

your half right, you can only lose home advantage if the home team or the referee call the game off due to pitch being unplayable.also if the pitch is unplayable on morning/afternoon of game then it can be switched there and then to away teams pitch provided their pitch is playable, most of lawson games so far have been called off enbloc mostly on the day b4

On our last and only visit to Shelbourne park, the ref called off the game before kick off and we weren't offered the option to play the game that morning in our own picth, so surely we should now have home advantage?

No, just wondering how other teams get home advantage after their games gets called off, and we dont, thats all.

the rules say ye should alan but ye also have to make yer pitch available on the day b4 for such a situation but if the ref called it off over the pitch then ye should be at home

The ref did call it off due to their pitch being unplayable, and we are still away from home,

The reason the ref called off the game was because he said that the weather conditions were too dangerous to play a game of football (it was snowing). When I asked the ref why the match was off he didi not say that the pitch was unplayable..........

So basically what your saying is, the ref didnt say the pitch was unplayable and that he only called the game off as it was snowing???

There was only ONE club member from Shelbourne at the pitch that day, so unless your him, your talking rubbish.

There wasn't ONE Shelbourne player anywhere near the ground that day.

We were there togged out and the ref said to us "I cant play this game, the pitch is unplayable and its like a swamp out there, and it would be too dangerous for the players".

I agree, it had been snowing but it had stopped by kick off, but the pitch was like a swamp.

Anyway, that said, we'll just get on with the game this Sunday, and may the best team win.
