Didn't see the panel "debate" after the game as I was at Croker. Only came in at the end when discussing the Bulgaria 1-6 result. Rough guess though that Laughing Bill made some statement attacking Trapp and Dunphy took the bait and Giles also sniped from the sideline. It's been the same vitriolic routine against every Irish manager since, errr, ummm, Johnny Giles. But then again I might be wrong and they praised Trapp or at least offered a modicum of defence.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

From what I could gather the debate was more measured without Dunphy's tantrum hysteriums. Though, still calling for Trap to go

Things would definately be more interesting if Dunphy had sole managerial appointment power, we'd be having a new manager every 3 months as he discovered that every time he thought he was right he was actually wrong.
Pity he can't figure out that what he is saying now has an 80% of chance of hitting the dustbin in a few months time.

His language was quite measured and he was making effort not to appear to be attacking the abilities of Darron Gibson, Glen Whelan or Andy Keogh. To that end he was defining them as victims in this construct as he argued they're being asked to perform tasks for which they are unsuited or ill-equiped.

Along with Giles he argued that GT is not making best use of the tools at his disposal for the game he evidently wants to play ...Carsleys omission
    was highlighted.

He repeatedly reminded that he argued for and lauded GTs appointment.

Another routine Champions League night on RTE, with John Giles unimpressed with Liverpool's Dick Kuyt and Javier Marchisio.
Dunphy can't see Drogba moving to Internazionale as they already have top striker Zlatan Ivanisevic.
And what has become of "selling club" Lyon, resorting to spending a meagre €50 million on new players this summer.

Yes, while pointing out that Ireland would beat Inter Milan the same night.

Of course, Gerrard and Kuyt were lauded last night, having been described previously as "a nothing player" and a "donkey" respectively before.

the point is dumbphy changes his opinion every week and says whatever comes into his head, and is never taken to task on it,
another craker this week as mentioned above, his description of goran ivanisevic the 37 yr old former wimbledon champ now plying his trade up front for inter... what a muppet continuously banging on about how much spanish and italian football he watches and he calls keane a spoofer

He doesn't claim to watch Italian football does he? I know he says he sits at home watching La Liga on Sky but he hardly claims to watch Serie A on streams does he?

Kuyt wasn't lauded, really. He was praised for being an honest player full of heart, but criticised for being relatively talentless.

I agree aboout the misnaming of players though. Giles said "Marciano" instead of Mascherano. And Dunphy with "Ivanisevic"

RTÉ and Bill seem to reckon he's the Irish expert on every league outside of England (except the LoI, of course).

Doubt he watches much of La Liga either, some of the comments he comes out with on established players are ludicrous. Every team seem to be "terrible at the back".

    Dunphy on Keane at sunderland

Another great pointless "I knew it all along!" from Dunphy.

first half of that is Keano is not cut out for it, "he's lost the plot" etc..etc..

The final comments are he is very shrewd, intelligent and will make a decision which benefits himself.

I dont hear much of Dunphy being based in England but from reading this thread and the snippets on Youtube etc....He's just a ****, albeit a mindly entertaining one.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Isnt there some stat that you will spend twice as long watching someone you hate over someone you like. I think there is a lot of lets see what he will say tonight with people and they do tune in for his rants and he rarely fails to deliver some nonsense or other.

Dunphy and Keane are cut from the same cloth. They are not the type you could depend on to stick it out when the going gets tough.

A good insight into those two there.

Dunny(sic, maybe we should start calling our toilets dunphys)gets something right once in a blue moon.
His most recent comments on Roy Keane are correct.

Dunphy is a slippery individual, completely undependable. It suited Keane to have him (Dunphy) calling him selfless, intelligent etc. What a load of crap.
What about the sad people who buy into this intelligent line on Keane? I believe it says more about them than anything else.
