I know you not defending him by the way, i just disagree with the part where he is treating all mangers the same.

He went too far. Its too early for that type of rant and it wasnt warranted. The team and trap deserved some critisism but a full blown rant. And then tries to justify it by saying mick and steve got that type rant also. Yeah they did, when we lost 5-2 to cyprus or nearly draw with san marino and only after there had been some terrible results even before these games. In my opinion he isnt treating trap like he did the others he is getting more frustrated earlier because he banged on about trap and is now afraid he wont live up to the hype dunphy wrote about him. I also think because he never liked mick or staunton as ireland manager he didnt expect much from them. He expects more from trap thus gets more angry quicker.

    Just my opinion thats all

Yes, great entertainment, but how on earth did we get to the position where Dunphy is now the Kingmaker and Kingbreaker? The man has opinions, which he presents as fact and has used his media position to get rid of the last three Ireland managers.
In his book "Only a Game" he expressed mistrust of journalists for developing theories and then looking for facts to back the theories up, rather than the other way around. What was it Joe Strummer said about nuns and churches?
Dunphy's problem is that he often has a valid point but he exaggerates its importance to such an extent that it becomes ridiculous. I believe the Gibson rant was more a reaction to people laughing at his softly-softly approach to Trap.

As for Giles being great entertainment? God, the man is pomposity personified.

The man's opinion is worthless for me , I can't believe his views still carry any credence

Surely his little rant at Trap has finally opened up the last remaining eyes of people thinking he's a legitimate journo with a voice worth of listening; the man's a pillock of the highest order.

He showed last night how much of a muppet he has become. Before the game he was bad mouting Berbatov non stop. Said before the game that he wuld have a little segment at the end of the game showing all bad elements of his game. Ater Berbatovs two games Dunphy, unsurprisingly, never mentioned the segment he was meant to show at the end of the game

He's very rarely wrong? He's said Bojan was a poor player (I haven't seen that much of him but he's only just turned 18 ffs) as well as others, amongst them Anderson and Mascherano. He also said that Ireland are a better team than Inter Milan. If that's true then I'm Mary Poppins.

To be a pundit, you don't have to be clever to be good. Few people watching play the game. Just voiceover the highlights, and close the programme.

If people want to do detailed analysis, they can do it themselves without having to waste taxpayers money for the priviledge.

Robbie Keane got the forked tongue of Ugly Grumpy last night, but with justification over that disgraceful miss.

I still think Dunphy over-did his criticism with the crap about if he was the manager he'd have taken Keane off at half-time because of that miss.

Yep. He was on our flight from Manchester on the Weds afternoon of the game, along with Dennis Irwin. Whelan (Ronnie not Glenn!) was also on the flight as it happens, I presume they were all doing tv/radio work
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Maybe we should just make this the pundits we dislike thread. Pat Dolan? Roddy Collins?
