I doubt it, bray are playing good football lately and getting the results too. If the tinkering continues the same way it has lately, there little hope of coming out with anything

we are good enough to beat bray if the players are allowed to play to their ablity and we showed that against bohs when we wer one down and had to open up our play .lets attack and use players like russel who can pass and cause problems for any defence

Russeler is not 100% and thats why he isnt starting games does anyone ever read the previews of our recent games. As for tinkering who do we think we are Chelsea .There is an all merciful amount of bile and crap being written on the forums by people who seem to know everything.

We need a win on friday but we need everyone working together for that Managment, Players and Supporters.

    If ever we needed a

big noisy away support its this friday 2 more wins should do it lads so lets stop bitchin for 4 weeks and get behind the team.

My God.....are you for the birds?.
Just cause some of us don't rate Cousins or think the players give enough for UTD doesn't mean we're all spouting rubbish.
No we most certainly do not think we're Chelsea. What do you call the altering the tactics of the previous game in which we won?Tinkering seems a pretty apt. word really.
There's no denying that some of TC's tactics have been bizzare this season and people are allowed to say as much without been attacked for writing complete"bile".you seem to think no matter what the results that everyone should always be 100% behind the team.Maybe so.....but as supporters we like to say the team progressing and doing well. We've probably got worse as the season has gone on.

Every week you come out saying" this week we really need the support".In fairness they've got great support this year considering they've won a paltry 5 games.

By the way if anyone on here thinks they know it all......then...

We are the supporters of the club and therefore are entitled to our opinion. Everyone on here knows that we will we be cheering the lads on at the games for the rest of the season just as we have up till now. We use this forum to air our thoughts on our season rather than vent them at Terryland. Please respect our points of view even if you do not share them.

You know what else we need? The players working hard as well.
    Anyway, the table is now:
    UCD 31pts (GD -6)
    Bray 29pts (GD -18)
    Utd 27pts (GD -9)
    Wford 24pts (GD -25)
    Lford 19pts (GD -19)
The goal difference effectively means we have an extra point on Waterford.
The run in for the teams is:
    UCD: Longford (H), Bohs (A), Pats (H), Utd (A)
    Bray: Utd (H), Longford (A), Drogheda (A), Sligo (H)
    Utd: Bray (A), Derry (H), Waterford (A), UCD (H)
    Waterford: Sligo (A), Drogheda (H), Utd (H), Shams (A)
    Longford: UCD (A), Bray (H), Bohs (A), Derry (H).
Given those four run ins, we should be more than capable of not only avoiding the drop/playoff, but climbing the table to finish at least above Bray, if not UCD. Waterford really have a dog of a finish, so we should be safe. Then the fun and games SHOULD start - that is just my opinion

I honestly dont think the board are considering getting rid of Tony despite all the criticism on the internet.

Criticism is not just on the internet, its in the papers, and GBFM had a cut at him too.
Anyway, whether or not there is criticism is not the basis on which he should be judged.
"Now lads, next item is the manager."
"Well, no one is saying anything bad about him."
"Good enough for me, we'll keep him. Next item on the agenda is . . "
NOT a way to run a club.
We have gone full time, brought in a load of new players, but if the board is happy with the season that has just gone, then keep him. If they are honest with themselves and see it as a disappointing season, then time to make a change.
3 down next year, and we can;t rely on a club having points docked to save our necks, as looks like happening this year . . if indeed our necks are saved.
The club has bitten the bulklet on a lot of things: (correctly) sacrificing on-field progress in recent years to get their house in order; developing Terryland hand in hand with the GDL; appointing someone of Nick's quality (the bank business not withstandting) to run the club. Time to turn its attention to affairs on the pitch.
And don't you dare accuse me of not supporting the club - I have supported United long before Cousins arrival, and will do so when he is long gone. I don't care for the manager, only the club, and I don't see him as the manager to bring the club - my club - forward on the pitch.
Phew, feel better now, time to take some happy pills.
    Sorry for the rant lads

    That's not a rant WB.

It's a perfectly logical arguement and one which 95% of people agree with.

IF we do stay up,it cannot be said that this was a good season. We've been very poor on the pitch at times and no real improvement.
Another key point is does anyone believe TC can get us into the Top 6 next year?...which is in the Clubs 6 year plan.
    Don't think he's capable tbh.

i let out a huge roar when longford equallised last night:-).

as someone already said, results have been going our way and last night was the same with longfords late late goal.
its way too close for comfort at this stage,3 points ahead of a bunch of part-timers who didnt even think they'd be in the division till a few weeks before the season whereas we had a full pre season etc.im trying to get off work to go to Bray.we need everyone putting in the maximum amount of effort over the next few weeks, and by that i mean THE PLAYERS because with the fans its a given.
    keep the faith.

keith kelly in the connaught tribune always has a good go at cousins and seems to sum up the lack of joined up thinking with cousins management

the team is constantly changing (injuries suspensions aside), players playing out of position, professionals with no desire to play, happy enough to mope along

if we had 11 alan keanes on the pitch we would definitely be top 6

we have some very good players - but the teams seems to lack confidence - and the hoof ball formation does not play to their strengths

if its not tony cousins fault - then whos is it?
    more water!

I don't have much faith in Cousins to be honest. Players seem to be in and out of the team for no apparent reason. Players seem to play all over the shop. Some of the defenders seem to have played in every position along the back four. Pumping long high balls up to two strikers like Glynn and Vinny is absolute madness but it's been happening all season. Conceding ridiculously soft goals from set-pieces. These are the basics and we seem unable to get our heads round them and that comes back to the managers door eventually.

He's undoubtably brought in some good players (along with a few duds) but he doesn't seem to be able to get the best out of them.

Its a very frustrating season here. We could very well be fighting for the European spot if you think about .....No I'm not exxagerating if we made the same signings, managed them abit better we would be well up there. Take away all the lost leads and where would we be? Then add in a bit of momentum from those games (home form) and hey presto were a top 4/5 side.

We are way off a top 4/5 side, Tir Oilean. We have at most 9/10 decent players. You need to have at least 16/17 players of this calibre to finish in the top half of the table.

If they were well managed and had a bit more of what Daryl Robson has we'd be pushing for it that's all. We are one of very few teams to hold the likes of Drogs Bohs and Cork with a poor squad, so a little bit of improvement would have seen us way up there.

Come on Pa, 9 or 10 decent players? Rogers, Fitzgerald, Keane, Robson - four good young lads who can help develop the club. After that, maybe Derek (if he feels like it) and that is it.
I think Lester has had a good season but wouldn't be a popular view, and Regi has faded badly. If we stay up, donlt have the bones of a team for a top 4 finish, low mid table would be best case scenario
