The country with no culture of it's own is not a real independent state. And the fact that you were too incapable to learn your own language says a lot more about your incapacity to cope with more than one language than anything.
Why don't you go the whole hog and invite the British back to rule us?

Back on topic. Incredibly ironic, that the town Benny Laryea plied his trade in this country, is one of the most xenophobic and racist spots in the Republic.

Ray Keogh played for Drums in the early sixties he was a fantastic footballer and got some Inter League caps. He must have been at the end of his playing days if he was with Drogs in 1969.

He was never referred to as darkey in his Drums days but was called "Blessed Martin" by some Drums fans after the now saint, because of their similarities.

As I said he was a great player and will be a Drums legend forever

What about Jose Mokendi ( a.k.a Joey McKenzie) who played for the Stripes an Harps in his time ?. A contemporary of Da Silva and Da Gama I think.

What about Haysham El Kershi, legendary Egyptian who graced Abbeycartron in the 80's!

Haysham El Khershi ( Arab names get different English spellings depending on the translator) was as I understand it a Lawyer married to a Longford woman.
At one point he was considered one of the '' local'' players in the squad.
From Alexandria to Abbeycartron... Haysham you can use that as the name of your autobiography.
