    Worst moment

Okay the thread is going to find out peoples most memorable moments what about your worst moments as a supporter of your beloved football club those games that to this very day still stick out like a sore thumb!! For me it will be the day we lost 5-1 to Carmarthen town in the uefa cup 2005. The most embarrasing moment as a town fan by a mile.

More highs than real lows for bohs fans in recent years to be honest but the ones that spring to mind are the defeat out in UCD that condemned us to a relegation playoff with Cobh ,which we won comprehensively, and the Cup final defeat to Dundalk when we were nailed on to win easily and even went ahead!!
    Bohs Will Be Back!!!

    ****ing loads of 'em;
    Zimbru
the crowd in the home game v Celtic (more anger than depression)
every cup final (longford being the worst as we just didn't turn up on the day)

As I've posted before though I take every goal we concede personally so the ones above are when I've been on the edge of depression.

A toss-up between a 1-0 Cup defeat to Skerries a few seasons ago (re-lived it last week when I met a guy who was at the game) and the 7-1 home defeat to Dundalk in the Cup 2 seasons later.
Sandwiched between these 2 Cup defeats was a 2-0 Cup defeat away to Rockmount which was slightly easier to take, as they were half-decent and took eventual finalists Waterford to a replay in the next round.

    I don't even have a memorable moment!

I suppose the two Drogs cup finals should be up there but Im not a big fan of the domestic cups so Id have to say losing 2-0 away to Slavia in a game we could have very easily snatched a draw in, so many missed chances that night.

The two seasons before this one I'd rather forget about to be honest!

Probably the single worst moment was Bray's last minute equaliser in the second cup final replay of 1999 after we had blown a multitude of chances to make the game safe.

Losing 3 v 0 to Sloven Bratislava fighting our way back into the game 1 v 3 HT then 2 v 3 then 3 v 3. Such Highs. Then in the last minute losing the match from a corner 3 v 4. See I'm living it all over again. (I still wont mention Zimbru/Cup finals).

03 season when we finished runners up to Dublin City in the 1st division. Last game of the season in white hall, Bray V Dublin City winner takes all game. We brought about 2500 fans with us. Battered them all game and should have won with ease only for a few ddgy reffing decisions. Finished 1 all in the end. Gut renching and heart breaking. It took me weeks to come to terms with another season in the 1st division !

Seeing us getting chinned 4-1 by Cork at home earlier this season, has to be one of the lowest points. (thanks Mr Fenlon!!!!).

Kevin McHugh scoring the late, late equaliser in the play-off at the Brandywell is up there too. Although to be fair, it was quickly followed by one of the greatest moments.

losing 1-0 to bray at home when we got relegated...we were soo poor that day forget what year.....
getting robbed in the league cup final on penos in tolka...
losing to bluebell in the cup.
    many many more

Real Madrid getting an undeserved equaliser from a stupid penalty 15 minutes from time at Lansdowne Road. For 20 minutes we dreamt the impossible dream of beating Real Madrid. They subsequently got a late winner.

Getting relegated - twice - worst was losing in Monaghan on the last day in 1994.

A cup repaly defeat at first division Drogheda in 1989. Murdered them 0-0 at Rathbane, scored in the first minute at United Park, could have had 6 and conceded 3 in the 2nd half. We had a decent team and I thought we were going to win the cup.

Home cup defeat v non league Transport in 1974 and Gerard O'Brien in my class announcing he was supporting Cork Celtic from now on.

Being rode out the gate by a linesman at Lourdes Stadium in a cup match in 1978.

Losing 6-0 in Waterford in 1988 - looked like we were down but survived in the end.

Al Finucane equalising with 4 minutes to go in the Markets Field for Waterford in our league winning season.

Losing to Cork Hibs in the 73 Cup semi final (my first away game).

2 up at half time v bohs and losing 3-2 - we would have sent them down.

Losing a cup replay in 1986 to Cork City while studying in UCC.

Losing at home to Drogheda in the cup in 1983, well beaten on the day but still a shocker.

Too many trips to oriel Park where we didn't perform. 88 and 93 both in the cup in particular

Being the only visiting fan at a 7-0 defeat in the Brandywell in 1990.

A 7-1 home defeat v Cork City at christmas time- think it was 1990.

Losing a 2-0 lead in the last 30 minutes in a cup semi final v Galway. Lost the replay and a place in Europe.

Drawing 0-0 at home to Harps in 1995 thus just missing out on a playoff. Consoling ourrselves with maybe we're better off to go up next year. Still haven't been back in the top division since.

Setanta final last year-to dominate and just not out it away was heartbreaking
Setanta semi this year- carbon copy of last years final
Losing 4-1 to Sligo in the showgrounds this season-the razors they gave out were very close to being used...
Hammarby away game this season. An appalling and depressing experience(the match not the trip).

When supporting Harps there are quite a few,

    • Cup final in 99
    • Getting relegated in 2000, after thinking we were safe (when some c*nt spread the word that UCD were losing).
    • The two seasons before this one

But the one that always sticks in my head is:
    • Losing in penalties to Longford at Finn Park in the Promotion/Relegation playoff in 2001(Possibly 2002 can't quite remember). Despair to joy and back to despair again all in the matter of a few hours.
