    Suggestion

I have noticed that some clubs such as City and Limerick have club shops in their respective city centres. I was thinking that it might not be such a bad idea for ramblers to look into having something similar with a view to selling merchandise, match tickets etc. After all there is no shortage of retail space to be had in the town and it could be operated on a volunteer basis?

I think this is already done in the Club itself. I doubt it would be worth opening a shop specific to Ramblers merchandice somewhere in the town. T'would be handy though if all the Pubs were willing to participate in selling on the stuff

I could easily offer this service online via a Secure CC Payment system. The club don't hvae this facility at present although it's not a complicated process to setup

Lads I think a full time club shop renting premises in Cobh would be a step too soon for the club at the moment, just as I think it is for Limerick. We get about twice the attendence you lot do at the moment and I don't think that that is enough to sustain interest in the shop.

Plus look at what happened to Cork's Patrick St store, lovely store, well stocked and staffed, but there was never anyone in there when I stuck my head in anyway, and they are far better supported than either of our clubs can even hope to be at this stage

I might look into making them available online through Ramblers Web

Our store on Patrick Street was given to us for 6 months at free rent from Owen O'Callaghan. It did very good business so we decided to open a store of our own on Daunt Square.

Good idea Luka "selling online".must compliment you on yor ideas lately.
Have to agree withJebus though, dont think we have enough support to open a shop in town especially when you can get what you want in fanatics or in club.
Dont think club would get enough volunteers to staff it anyway, they cant get any volunteers to sell the match tickets once a fortnight for 2 hours,so how would they staff a shop 6 days a week.

the best idea would be to utilise the shop on matchdays better and also to have an online facility to purchase rams gear, there is nothing really on display at the club shop and realistically 80% of your sales are going to be on match day

My guess is that there would be quite a few sold online, especially to all the home-sick exiles. Seriously though, when I was away, I really wanted one and bought one while I was home on holiday. It's just a thing I suppose. Good business opp there Rams-07

I like your way of thinking
You might want to talk to someone on the committee before you start any thing though.

Honestly, I really don't know why that in this day and age that Ramblers haven't made their merchandise available online already. Think of all the lost revenue. I mean, even the Wanderers site ( www.cobhwanderers.com) allows you to download their logo to your mobile . I did it this morning just to see what it was like. Only cost me 1.50
