Some people down here slagged him off but he never gave less than 100% and would definitely have done a job for us in midfield if fit. That said cant see him giving up the army.
Anyone from GUFC know anything about Costa Fortune heading back
to Terryland next season?
Apparently, he was telling a lad I know that he was sick of all the
Athlone Town shyte and supporters giving him a hard time, and had
already lined up next season with Galway!
He said this in front of ATFC manager too! Granted it was in a chipper
after a night on the beer (according to the lad who told me that is)
so the events described might not be 100% accurate!

We are the Galway Boys Stand up and make some noise"
I really likes Fortune....god technical player and scored a few crackers.
That said it wouldn't be a very progessive signing if we're in the Premier next year.
still though i'd pick him any day of the week ahead of Cooke,Reilly,Moran etc

I was thinking that too, whatever deal he may have lined up would have
to be a part time number.
Have to say since returning from Kosovo he looks fitter than ever ... probably
cos Supermacs havent reached Kosovo yet, but he's just not up to the job
when it comes to the much Division 1 football. Fades in and out of games and
tries to take every free kick and corner ... usually balooning it. Havent seen him
score a free kick since the cup game against Galway in Mels a few years back!

If stories that people(me) had heard in chippies were true then Liverpool would have signed Zidane when houllier was there, the galway football team would now be managed by mick o.dwyer and galway united would now be called galway city devon.
but this story isnt as far fetched.
