It seems to be a full time, long term appointment.
stupid! can just see chelsea go down and down from here on in to be honest, always thought there was something bad about abramovich
it will hurt the players hard especially Terry, lampard, drogba and a couple more who really did like him, shevchenko will be happy i think
hard to know what kind of reaction it will bring on sunday, could spur them on and unite them even more, or it couls ruin them
they've got their yes man anyway now with grant!
does anyone know if billy mcculloch, the really funny guy left?

Pat Nevin called it spot on and it's what we all think too. Grant is only there until they get their man which in all likelihood will be Hiddink as soon as the qualifiers are over.

I hear Drogba is the first Chelsea player who has told his agent to find him a new club, as soon as possible, with Lampard looking like he doesn't want to be there anymore could this be the beginning of the final nail being placed in Chelsea's coffin?
As for Grant, he'll be there until January, when Chelsea are struggling to hold on to their top 4 spot and will be replaced by Hiddink, who won't be able to match Wenger, Benitez and Fergie in the Premier League right away and will promptly be replaced by whatever the current flavour of the month is in football management, and thus Chelsea will go on, becoming the new Galacticos until Roman decides enough is enough, sells up to whoever will take it and Chelsea drift off back to their proper mid-table to relegation position
this seems like the hearts situation over again alrite, i can see problems ahead and ambramovich jumpin ship if all doesnt go well in the next few months.i can definately see a few of the players lookin for a way out.they could be the next disaster story if players leave and they dont make the cl
I had to laugh the other night when I saw the attendance at the Rosenborg game and the fact that the "fans" booed during and at the end of the match. It epitomised the fairweather fan. I bet the majority there were newish fans of the last 5 years or so who only understand success and have no time for anything less.

Short term rumour has it the Portuguese FA are going to ask Jose to take charge of the team during Big Phil's suspension. That will keep him busy till end of November ish. After that He'll probably be available for selection![]()
Doubts raised over Grant's future
How "convenient". Now I really believe that clearly he is just a gap-filler for the time being til they find someone else.![]()

Mourinho wont be going to Spain , most likely to Italy , I'd probably say either Inter or Juve if things go bad for Ranieri
Cant believe this decision by Chelsea, sacking one of the best coaches around
But i do remember reading a while ago that this was on the cards..............re Ambroavich watching Russian/Ukrainian teams play in Israel, but really doing deals for the future...................now they have an Israeli manager..............and he will be there for the long haul
As for the Special One, i would bet he will go to Inter (as another poster pointed out here), Mancini isnt that good, and Jose wants to coach in Italy
also the Portugal job is a def no go.........................international managment is usually for the end of a succesful coaching career, and for the hopeless

Read a fascinating article today about Mourinho's fall out with Terry and it gave a brilliant insight into the in-fighting at Chelsea. I would imagine Frank Arnesan has got something to do with it if Van Basten is being linked.
I'll try and find the link, I'm sure it was in the Guardian (are you reading this Anto?)![]()
