    Today's Suspensions and Whatnot

    Selected highlights first:

    Kilkenny City were fined €50 for having the wrong socks for the fixture v Wexford Youths (25.08.07).
    €2.27 a sock then


    The following suspensions and sanctions were issued by the Disciplinary Commission at their meeting on Wednesday, 5th September 2007 and are effective as and from Wednesday, 19th September 2007 unless otherwise stated:

    This Press Release is for information purposes for members of the media and the general public.



    Shane Barrett (Cobh Ramblers) suspended for TWO (2) competitive matches and fined €50 as a result of reaching twelve (12) penalty points.



    Bohemians were fined €50 for the improper conduct of their players (five players carded) v Shamrock Rovers (21.08.07).



    Sean Brennan (Drogheda United) suspended for ONE (1) Under 21 competitive match and fined €15 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Stuart Byrne (Drogheda United) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Wesley Charles (Galway United) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Brian Clerkin (Bohemians) suspended for TWO (2) Under 21 competitive matches and fined €25 as a result of being sent off v Shamrock Rovers (21.08.07).

    Automatic suspension in next Under 21 competitive match (as Bohemians are out of the Enda McGuill Cup) already served and ONE (1) competitive match as and from Wednesday, 19th September.



    Cobh Ramblers were fined €50 for their late arrival for the match v Kerry League (22.08.07).



    Wayne Conway (Kerry League) suspended for TWO (2) Under 21 competitive matches and fined €25 as a result of being sent off v Limerick 37 (10.08.07).

    Automatic suspension in next Under 21 League match already served and ONE (1) competitive match as and from Wednesday, 19th September.



    Paul Cook (Manager, Sligo Rovers) fined €500 and severely warned as to his future conduct for his unacceptable behaviour at the match v Galway United (22.08.07).



    Cork City were fined €100 for the setting off of flares by their supporters in the match v Waterford United (24.08.07).



    Ross Cosgrave (Limerick 37) suspended for TWO (2) competitive matches and fined €50 as a result of being sent off v Douglas Hall (22.08.07).

    Automatic suspension in next FAI Ford Cup match to be served and ONE (1) competitive match as and from Wednesday, 19th September.



    Drogheda United were fined €100 for the improper conduct of their players (five players carded) v Bohemians (24.08.07).



    Anthony Flood (Shelbourne) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Colin Fortune (Athlone Town) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Brian Gannon (Monaghan United) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Philip Hughes (Dundalk) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €40 as a result of reaching eight (8) penalty points.



    Timothy Kiely (Kilkenny City) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.

    Paul McCarthy (Waterford United) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Peter William McCarthy (Kerry League) suspended for ONE (1) Under 21 competitive match and fined €15 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Glen McCormack (Sligo Rovers) suspended for TWO (2) Under 21 competitive matches and fined €25 as a result of being sent off v Finn Harps (26.08.07).

    Automatic suspension in next Under 21 League match already served and ONE (1) competitive match as and from Wednesday, 19th September.

    Derek O’Brien (Galway United) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Cathal O’Connor (Dundalk) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €40 as a result of reaching eight (8) penalty points.



    Stephen O’Flynn (Galway United) suspended for TWO (2) competitive matches and fined €50 as a result of being sent off v Drogheda United (20.08.07).

    Automatic suspension in next eircom League of Ireland match already served and ONE (1) competitive match as and from Wednesday, 19th September.



    Steven O’Shea (Waterford United) suspended for ONE (1) Under 21 competitive match and fined €15 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Luke O’Sullivan (Cobh Ramblers) suspended for ONE (1) Under 21 competitive match and fined €25 as a result of being sent off v Castlebar Celtic (26.08.07).

    Automatic suspension in next Under 21 competitive match (as Cobh Ramblers are out of the Enda McGuill Cup) already served.



    James Sugrue (Kerry League) suspended for ONE (1) Under 21 competitive match and fined €15 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Joe Wadding (Wexford Youths) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €25 as a result of reaching four (4) penalty points.



    Kevin Walsh (Kilkenny City) suspended for ONE (1) competitive match and fined €40 as a result of reaching eight (8) penalty points.

    It's the "whatnot" that makes these press releases interesting. €2.27 a sock for Kilkenny - wonder what Bohs will get fined for the Waterford episode?

    Probably the same as what Bray got fined for the Tolka Park and Turners Cross episodes. Sweet FAI !!! The latter even live on television.

    It's still far from clear what actually went down, no matter what "Mr. Buttimer's" friend declares on here to be "the facts".

    If it was the case that Bohs just decided all of a sudden to bring a different kit from the one they played in in the last match down there then sure fine away.
    Because if Gabriel doesn't rollerblade to the Chelsea Piers then the terrorists have truly won.
