Former Ireland U-21 international O'Toole (36) has been released by EFL 2 club AFC Wimbledon. He had been with Wimbledon since 1 Feb 2024 and had been spending 5-6 hours a day commuting from his home in Northampton, three or four days a week, sometimes more. The glamorous life of the professional footballer!

Was he a bit of a wild young man when he was younger ? I wonder did that have much affect on the levels he eventually spent a lot of his career playing at ?

He had a bad year with injuries in 2011 - first cruciate ligament, then groin. May have affected the level of his performances thereafter. But according to Transfermarkt.com, O'Toole played 66 times in the Championship (11 goals), 182 times in EFL 1 (19 goals) and 230 times in EFL 2 (36 goals). The figures suggest considerable reliability.
