Slightly off topic- but can anyone tell me what the ref and assistants get in fees and expenses for an EL match?

I heard the figures that the officials cost Harps for the cup replay with Galway United and was very shocked indeed, although that was midweek and I think someone said the FAI subsidise them for league games.

Yes and here is the proof. Not only was it well outside the box, he gets a full boot to the ball and knocks it out for a corner.

All that "proves" is that your centre half can levitate.
Because if Gabriel doesn't rollerblade to the Chelsea Piers then the terrorists have truly won.

What is that old saying again - There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Don't you think it proves the tackle was outside the box?

Hard to tell just from those three pics but it's clear to me the Rovers player never got the ball - the Bohs player nicked it past him. If he had've got it, lunging like that, the ball would've been diverted towards the corner not continued on towards the box.

However, even if he only caught the Bohs player's trailing leg, there's no way the Rovers player made contact with him inside the box.

Free kick, yellow card but not a red as the number 2 was in position to get between the ball and the goal.

Ah yeah, definitely. Don't think everybody was saying it was inside, though; it was more the fact that there were no cards shown by "Mr. Kelly" that seems to have been the common grievous point.

Reminds me of the "goal or a penalty" tactic we used to use when we were kids on the green, to decide arguments over a shot that the defending team was adamant went over the post (jumper) and the attacking team was adamant just crept in. You'd pick up the ball and say, "Goal [to us] or [we get] a penalty!" and that (the penno) would sort it.

Heary should have come over, picked up the ball, and just gone to Kelly, "Well, it's a penno or a yellow/red card" and that would have been his choice.
