What year was the Shed built?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
The 87 League Cup Final v Shamrock Rovers, if my memory is correct, is when the first stage of work on the Shed began. I remember the Curragh Rd. end bank all dug up that day. Also the first time since entering the league, if I'm correct, that we didn't lose to Rovers.
So I'd say the Shed was first used as a terrace before the end of that season.

I remember going to a game with the old man in January of 1988 and because of the construction going on, the brother stepped on a nail, had to take him to the South Infirmary missed the end of the game.
