    That doesn't make any sense.

What would they have to gain from that?

Why wouldn't the ref just say "Feck off and get yer home kit?", which obviously was around?

As I said - strange business indeed - I can but speculate.

Could also have something to do with shorts or the goalkeeping kits - but we need confirmation by those there as to what each team initially came out in

Possibly, but in that case, you can just change shorts or keeper's jersey; no need to have the whole team change the whole kit.

well i'll put the speculation to dead then.
We were wearing our usual blues shirts, nicks and shorts. Bohs only brought away kit,wit blue shorts, and with blue stripe on it,so Buttimer decided they clashed. Game was about to be cancelled until they agreed to wear our away jerseys!

Could you spot any possible clashes?

i didnt think there was any problem, but the ref said the blue on it would clash with our all blue kit,and the fact bohs had blue shorts wit them didnt help either.

shorts and socks have to be noticibly different colours is all I can think of based on that

pretty sure there's a league rule saying you can't change just the shorts - but the whole kit if there is a conflict

EDIT: Plus I suppose sleeves have to be different in cases of a handball shout in a packed area

thats why just wearing our all white kit like asked to in the first would have sorted things, but Connor was having none of it. The game was about a minute from being called off like, until agreement!
and also fans were blaming WUFC for the problem, when the problem was just with Bohs!
Bohs were informed that we would be wearing our all blue kit before travelling down, and are meant to bring both kits with them in case they clash!

Bohs shouldn't have needed to be informed you were wearing your home kit at home! Ridiculous from Bohs, why didn't they just wear their home kit. Amatuer

    Kit Clash

If this Happens Why dont the Home team just wear their own Away kit and the Away team be fined with a percentage going to the home club. It looks ( and is ) stupid when an away team has to wear the home teams Strip. How bloody amaturish it looked on setanta when Cork played Bray
It will look even dafter on monday nite when ELW will have a big dicussion on it!!! Quaility Monday nite TV

In this case had Waterford worn their away kit they would have clashed with Bohs' predominantly White strip.

Sounds like the ref was being a bit picky, but at the end of the day it was up to Bohs to bring a strip that the ref would accept.

Because we are the home team!!! Why should we be punished for Bohs stupidity???
Anyway Bohs definately didn't wear our away kit..It looked like a training top. Didn't have a sponser from what I could see.

Bohs were offered a kit from a local junior side but they turned it down because it had green + white hoops!!!! Didn't want to play looking like Shamrock Rovers.....
