You could add after "follow through" that he actually withdrew his trailing leg.
The funny thing is that the ref didnt even see it, go back and look at the video:
Ball is there to be won.
Both players go in.
Hunt wins it and ball comes out.
Ref follows direction of the ball.
Hunt's momentum causes him to follow through.
Czech player yelps out.
Ref looks back.
Play is stopped.
Czech players chase the ref.
Hunt is red carded.

I think I should the parachute, because I'm great.
In fact, I think I should get both parachutes, in case one doesn't work.
Peter Cech's analysis was correct I think. It wouldn't even be a foul in England but in Europe that type of takle isn't tolerated. Hunt should have known this just from watching World Cups on telly. It was a stupid tackle but the punishment didn't fit the crime, even by European "non contact" standards. A yellow would have told him not to do it again.
anti celtic bias...did i touch a nerve...i regularily travel over to celtic games, and would call myself a fan. But i believe that while mcgeady is good enough for the SPL and the odd CL game where he lifts his performance a little, iv've seen nothing in him playing for ireland that suggests hes good enough at this level, so take your smart arse retorts out the door with you on your way out. this has nothing to do with celtic, its about hunts sending off against the czechs and the performance in general...maybe go to world football, and attack posters there.
Then why did you bring McGeady into the equation and attack the post from McGeady10. Hunts challenge was stupid, he was always open to a red card when the studs are showing and he can be prone to hothead behaviour like he is at Reading. He was far too rash. Like the man points out in his post.
There was no need to jump on his back for having a players name (albeit an underperforming one) as his username. McGeady deserves his criticism but this is a thread about Hunt.

fair enough, but why slate him as an idiot....he went into a challenge a LITTLE too hard....no way was it a red, i was merely pointing out that the poster obviously admired mcgeady, yet called a better player (imo) and idiot. and nothing to do with celtic...so il leave it there

Fair enough. However I tend to agree with McGeady10's post. He gets it fairly spot on when he says that Hunt will always leave himself open to a red card with a challenge like that. I'm willing to put it down to passion and desire but it was extremely reckless and will always be controversial.

I thought it warranted a yellow. Perhaps a yellow and a "what are you at you gimp? If you fart funny from now on you're off" clip round the ear from the ref.
The verdict was compounded by seeing the complete lack of reaction to the tackle from the Czech bench, which was directly in front of Hunt and his dying swan target.
Seeing as they stood entirely motionless throughout the incident (until the card was brandished) They obviously didnt feel it was a serious enough challenge to warrant running towards the ref, jumping up and down, and brandishing imaginary colourdy cards in the air like demented latin bingo callers, and if anyone was gonna be first to jump at a half-chance of an advantage, it woulda been them...
On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"
And they nearly did.
doesn't matter we're ****** anyway

Do you actually believe this stuff you type.
Aiden McGeady out of his depth against the likes of Slovakia and Czech Republic in front of about 20,000 fans in eastern europe?
This guy has played - and played well - in huge Champoins League matches against the likes of AC Milan in the San Siro??
Only last month he was Celtic's best out field player in a Champions League qualifier against Spartak Moscow - a level the likes of Hunt and practically every other member of the Irish XI in both matches bar Keane and Given will ever play at on a regular basis.
Yeah McGeady had two bad games but lets remember he's playing in a hopeless team with no shape and he's been played out of position.
On another note the Donegal maestro had another MOTM performance today!

Finnan played today and played well, what a surprise, the lad sure heels quickly
I have no doubt whatsoever about his reason for not playing. I'm sure the medical staff at both Ireland and Liverpool will be able to confirm that.
He is apparently very proud of his Irish Nationality so I find it rather unlikely that he would miss an important game if it was at all possible to play. Which is refreshing to see, these days.

if his name was Roy Keane we'd have had a separate thread on his recovery!!!

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
Actually according to the papers today he looked very rusty throughout the game and didnt look fully fit. Maybe he is finally getting ****ed off of being contiously played out of position for Ireland when he is our only player to continously play well in the Chapions League
No McGeady didnt have two bad games. He had two absolutly woeful games and proved he can not hack the physicality of the international game. His performance against th Czechs was one of the worst i have seen in an Irish jersey in some 10 years. I didnt think he could top Slovakia for a dreadful performance but by god he did. You cant blame the fact that he was playing in a 'hapless team with no shape'. he saw plenty of the ball and every time he ran with his head down, into a blind alley and was then simply brused off the ball. He lost possesion so many times in Prague it was shocking. Yes Aidan did look completly out of his depth and at times looked like a child playing in a mans game
