Slovakia 2-5 Wales. Sounds nice doesn't it?
Actually to be fair, Slovakia are a good team and the scoreline flattered us totally. Funnily enough it was the exact opposite of what happened in Cardiff. They dominated but couldn't finish, we scored on the break.
We were indebted to a few top class performances and a pathetic Slovakian 'keeper. In fact, this game contrasted to the one in Cardiff could be held up as scientific evidence that karma does indeed exist. And also that attacking football gets you nowhere. Just sit back and you'll get flukey wins.
Nonetheless, we'll take that.
Here's hoping you beat the Czechs to keep our mathematical chances of qualifying alive.![]()

More chance of Rovers playing in an FAI Cup Quarter Final in Tallaght this season
Kom Igen, FCK...
And we have Toshack. Both our managers are much maligned. I don't think either are 'bad' managers as such. Just in international football, your mistakes get magnified times a million. The fact is neither of us have that great squads, so we'll have good days and bad days but usually won't have enough consistency to do anything meaningful on the international stage.
My opinion of course.

No, Slovakia are a brutal side, which has been confirmed tonight. It only magnifies what an abysmal effort Saturday night was
I saw the first 20 minutes or so of this..It looked as if Slovakia were going to geta cricket score.
