Fair shout as every soccer thread is being changed into ****ty issues, but for us to keep this thread about committee issues you'll need a mod and we dont have one.

if asked (as i have already) about the article, just tell them spilane is a dope and the three resignations were all family, one left the others folowed sticking together, and f***ing the club over by giving statements to that w***** spillane, he hates rams why would any fan listen to him

thats my one and ony comment about the subject was trying to stay away form it but had to say it sorry

y cant we talk about it???????? is it better to shove it under the rug and hope it never gets out? there is something up in the club for all those to resign.. if there is no explanation i think there should be an EGM.. it has everything to with football in my opinion we picked these people less than 9 months ago and they cant even stay in their positions for the time they promised to serve? now there must be an explation for this..

Fair comment in one sense, but as you say we picked them to serve us, and they resign without filling full term, until they reveal full reasons for resignations i dont think they have a leg to stand on personally, unless its personal issues which IMO opinion isnt proper either.

If they havent explained how why they resinged now, why would they at a EGM. If as you say its something to do with football, then quite simply **** them, were top of the table, what in gods name can anyone crib about about! It cant be about football IMO has to be personal or off field subjects! Which is probably for EGM or AGM.

Can I try to correct (or maybe Im wrong here) what seems to be an never ending mis-conception here.
IMO the committee are not picked to serve anyone least of all the fans. They are a group of people who are willing to give up their time, weeknights and weekends FREELY when others couldnt be bothered to. They dont and shouldnt serve anyone. Their main function is to help or assist in making sure that the club actually can field 1 or more teams (presently caters for about 15 teams) in football and has the finance arranged to do that.
Now Im not saying everything or every decision they make, I personally agree with, but the amount of abuse and negative comment these people get is beyond belief and that goes for new ramblers and old MSL ramblers or whoever. It seems to me that for every person willing to stand up and volunteeer for committee work that theres abour four who are willing to complain about how its done.

For once lets get behind the committee whether its the old or the new or whoever and support our team. If yu want to be where Drogheda are then thats what is needed 100% support. Then If you think it could be done better, get enough people interested by letting them know your ideas to move the club ahead and Im sure you will get elected at agm. God help ye then though (continue at start)

well in theory they do serve us.... the committee are there to run the club.. and the members own the club so they serve us afterall it is us who put them in and keep them there if we think they are doing a proper job.....

also i have no problem with the current committee i just feel that the people who resigned should make a public statement as to why they jumped ship.

yes the people of cobh own the club , it is not a private investor enterprise
the committe are only guardians of the club and therefore if they assume aposition in the club whether they are giving their time freely etc they still have an obligation to the fans to keep the goings of the club available to the fans and if an EGM is called they will have to answer questions put forward by the members

the more i thinkabout it the only real way to clear this situation up is to have a EGM let everyone with an issue air it and clear this up once and for all

Clear what up though? All this situation has arisen from the recent resignations, and yesterdays very 'old news' article by Spillage. I refuse to accept that these people were forced out, actually the word is, allbeit unofficial, that these people left of their own accord. We're all aware that they gave their valuable time to the club etc etc, and they should be commended for that, however, they will indeed be replaced and life will go on once again. At this particular moment in time it's what happens on the field is of importance. Is there really a need to call an EGM? I don't really think so, but I'm open to correction. These resignations are over a week old and the Club hasn't fallen apart yet!! A big turn out is what's needed against Athlone on Saturday and, if there is one, then that'll show the support the team, the committee and the club have from the people of Cobh.

Any comments I make or have made regarding this petty situation are my own views and no-one is obliged to agree with them. Sad fact is though that comments like your pervious one usually put people off responding to a serious thread. If you have something to say regarding the thread topic then just say it rather than feeing the urge to have a jibe at another supporter. Stick to the topic and keep the personal ****e out of it.

Ah now we have it...it aint the people of Cobh as you say but the members. Its only the members who the committee are accountable to (or serve as it was put earlier) Now are all the people who would like things done differently members cause if not they have no say over nothing or no stake or say in the club.

all members are season tkt holders who elect the committe at the AGM..anyone can become a season tkt holder if they pay in time (altho from what i hear the rules can be bent)
if your not a member you dont have a say in the running of the club which i have to agree with..
Im not a member of the GAA club so i dont have a say there even tho i may not agree with whats going on up there..

Exactly, well put and spot on.
Just good to remind people when they say the committee is there to serve us. Its "us" if your a season ticket holder and even at that. Its not their main function to look after the season ticket holders rather it is to arrange for management of the senior and Underage teams and finance the teams with whatever is proportionally appropriate in comparison to club income and also to arrange for whatever ground development is posssible again subject to club income. Of course supporters play a big part in that club income as without this the club would fold....so lets get away from thinking that the committee owe us all a big debt of gratitute for allowing them to serve us and lets support them if possible , no matter which gang are in, and the club will benefit tremendously if all have that approach.

jesus man you jump the gun every time, expect comments like that here. He was hes agreeing with you. More and likely isnt personal because your new so he is he highly unlikely he knows who you are! And you for him to id say.
