Do we think it's too small. 50,000 odd seems about right, sure we could sell out 100,000 for Germany/England etc but who wants 40,000 rattling around in a huge stadium for Latvia.

For soccer, I think it's the right size. Particularly if, in the future, the GAA would allow us to use Croker for the odd game such as Germany/England/France etc...

It's probably too small for rugby though. The biannual home fixtures against France and England will always draw a potential crowd of 80000+. Also, any autumn tests against the southern hemisphere sides would probably attract a similar demand.

If we wouldnt get 60000 to a football match then why is it so hard to find tickets for any of the home games???? (excluding friendlies) dont underestimate the irish supports they would go no bother...

Yeah - "Lansdowne Road" will endure regardless of whether its "official" name is "Durex Park" or whatever.

As Newstalk pointed out this morning - I thought some wouldn't lament the passing of a name associated with the English Middle / Upper classes - Lansdowne was an English Landlord.

Is it through that there will be less tickets available for games to the new stadium than the old one due to increased corporate tickets??

Probably for big friendlies but unless they're adding 17,000 more corporate seats, there'll be more tickets available for competitive games.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.
