eL Weekly ..... Tzits on now
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

It's a disgrace that they let Martinho II on tv[interviewed outside Tolka].
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
It's a disgrace that they keep getting UCD players' names wrong- Conan Doyle this week.![]()
At least Welch aknowledged we're now into Tuesday morning!
They should really show it on Saturday/Sunday during the morning or at Lunchtime! ITV show the Championship highlights on a Sunday morning and it's perfect IMO.
Who Cares?!
It must be Tuesday again, time for the weekly EL weekly moan. It's crap, It's on too late, instead of promoting the league EL Weekly detracts from it with it's amateur presentation.
What can we do about it? The weekly moan on Foot.ie doesnt seem to work.
The league was to "seriously" invest in marketing and promotion of the league this season. Some CPO's are doing a good job locally, but wouldn't a professionally produced Weekly magazine/Highlights show be the perfect showcase for the league? A few " lifetime Shamrock Rovers Fan" ads on Newstalk is not going change much.
How can we put pressure on the FAI to produce such a show? They made the soccer show a few years ago and it was well put together, so why can't they produce something similar in this new age of professionalism? Is Noel Mooney too busy sticking up posters in Sligo?
Would a national petition campaign at LOI games help convince the FAI to invest in promoting the league in an appropriate way?
Galway United - Connacht Champions 2008
They don't even need any 2 bob presenters/pundits either, they could have a magazine type programme such as the Champions League round-up on Saturday mornings when that competition runs...at least then they could focus on the clubs/players views rather than the pundits...
It is and always has been a sh1te time. We've been calling for it to be fixed for a long time but what are we going to do?
Worth staying up to see those goals again though!![]()
Start a mass email attack on Tv3, everyone email the cnuts and let them know we will get the Dundalk lads to send Maxi, if they dont show EL weekly at a respectable hour
I doubt if they could do a sunday programme, especially in the morning. If the series of games are only finished on a saturday night at around 10 ish, then surely they wouldnt have time to produce anything decent. We would all be straight back on here complaining about the amatuer programme.
forgive me if i'm wrong on this lads but i'm sure TV3 would have it on at a much better time if they felt the viewing figures merited it!
in fairness as an independent broadcaster all they want to do is put on the most popular shows at the times the highest figures will watch them!
all those who watch eLW in it's current slot would watch it whatever time it was on (within reason of course). obviously TV3 feel that they would not pick up much greater figures by putting it on during the prime viewing times, of say, 7pm - 10pm.
as i say they are an independent station and have commercial reasons for their existence, however as for that shower over in Ballsbridge who collect close on €200 per house per year in the name of public service broadcasting ........

Sure Match Of The Day have been doing a pretty decent programme since the 60's/70's on the night the matches finish. We've only got 5 or 6 matches to promote. It can't be that difficult.
Having said that, the 11.50pm/11.20pm slot on a Monday night is a disgrace and is nothing more than lip service to a league that deserves better.
