Red Card for Mahon for head butting

2-0 to Derry now
It's looking like Bohs away to Derry at the Brandywell in the final.
Stupid action, but Brennan dived to make sure he'd get sent off - nasty to see gamesmanship like that.
Derry were by far the better side - think the Fenlon factor has finally been shrugged off - and look like they're back to the side they were last year. Best of luck to them in the final.
I didn't think there was contact either and the first challenge wasn't much by way of a foul on Brennan. I think in the follow up by Mahon, Brennan pulled his head back and wasn't hit. Stupid action though on the part of the right back. Whatever chance they had at 1-0 down at that point went with that dismissal. UCD never looked liked getting back in the game.
I was saying at half time the first few mins of the second half were crucial with the score at 0-0 and I'd a feeling Derry would open them in the second half.
Was hoping for a penalty shoot-out. I should have known better.

Stu, so it was a stupid decision to head butt a fellow player, but its nasty to fall down after it. If you ask me it was nasty of Mahon to throw a head, and stupid of Brennan to go down so dramatic.
Stop trying to deflect criticism
Think that's arguing over pedantics, really.
Brennan knew full well he was trying to get someone sent off, so that's why I classify it as nasty. Mahon's reaction was utterly stupid. You can define those words as you wish, but as I said, you're getting into small detail.
