    this was on fai website

    Junior International Fixture
    Peter’s Hill Sports Complex, Glasgow

    Republic of Ireland 1 – 0 Scotland
    Lacey 7

David Lacey won the game for Ireland by scoring the all-important solitary goal with only seven minutes gone.

The Scots were left chasing the game for the remaining 83 minutes and they couldn’t convert their possession into worthwhile scoring chances.

Match-winner Lacey was voted Man of the Match and proved a thorn in the Scottish defence throughout. He was supported well by Joe Watson in attack, who won his first cap today and was unlucky not to see his name on the score-sheet.

The match was played at a fast pace on a tight all-weather surface and this led to a number of clashes that produced some nasty injuries on both sides.

Ireland carved out the most clear-cut chances in the game and Kirwan, Watson, Lacey and Mernagh were presented with opportunities to increase the lead.

The Irish defended bravely in the second half in which Walsh, Carraig, Breen, Fitzsimons, O’Mahony, and Fitzgerald were all outstanding.

Robbie Coombes and David Wall also excelled in midfield in this, the 60th meeting with the Scots.

    Republic of Ireland Junior team:
    Adrian Walsh (Carrick United)
    Stephen O’Mahoney (Lisselton)
    James Walsh (St. Michael’s)
    Paul Breen (St. Michael’s)
    Andy Fitzsimons (Killester United)
    James Sugrue (Tralee Dynamos)
    Wayne Fitzgerald (St. Michael’s)
    David Wall (Pike Rangers)
    Robbie Coombes (Portmarnock)
    Joey Watson (Waterford Crystal)
    David Lacey (Killester United)

    Substitutes used: A, Hannon, A, Mc Donnell, K. Hartnett, R. Carraig, P. Kane, J. Mernagh, K. Kirwan.

Whats the got to do with anything?Must have been a typo, didn't see any of the Fairview U-12's team mentioned above..

Nice try see's it to start yet another flame thread,if your attitudes like that your better off not coming on here.

ON TOPIC: They played well from all accounts and he made full use of his bench too in fairness to the guy.

What about a few Fairview players getting a chance in the Junior squad. They are going really strong at the moment and think they will go very far in the FAI this year!!!
