I hate rugby too, but sometimes the players forget about the sport and their poncy upbringing and show their thuggish side with digs and headbutts, and that means I sometimes have a mild interest in a passage of play.
never headbutted someone either

CRICKET - boring farts in woolly jumpers and golf(only good to play not watch)
cricket's a good laugh to play, but not great to watch. it takes effort to understand and peope usually couldn't be arsed
Cricket is great to play for local clubs for the team spirit. Name another sport where you can drink beer at half time and smoke during the match?
On another note, I disagree about curling. I'm happy for the missus to get out there and practice her sweeping techniques. The house is a dump and needs a good clean.
Worst sport has to be tour de France style cycling. Mountain biking is cool and there's loads of crashings, but is there anything worse than watching people cycle for 120 miles and then race for the last 5 or so?
it's easily cricket by a long way
Gymnastics and ice-skating are one of the best non-ball games to watch. i have been fascinated for years by the skill, determination and expertise of the athletes, in particular, gymnastics. Luckily, being in Glasgow i get to see the grand prix held here every october/november, have seen the top gymnasts in action. deadly! Unfortunately there is not much of either sport on mainstream tv.
curling - no way
cricket - hell, no
golf - yawn, but wouldn't say no to playing it in the Algarve![]()
I love cricket. Play it all summer - great way to spend an afternoon and then on to the pub. Spends hours in front of the TV watching it. Magic![]()
Most boring:
a bad game of Gaelic football where it's all free kicks.
Formula 1: televised traffic.
Wresting - even the real stuff.
Synchonised swimming - apart from the nice legs in the air of the female swimmers![]()
Tennis - who cares if one boring non entity beats another.
Darts - the sport of athletes![]()
Rugby league
Surely tennis..........unless its Wimbeldon and Henman is losing again![]()
Mens tennis used to be good a while back when you had good rivaleries with the likes of McEnroe, Connors and Becker. Women's tennis popularity has probably gotten better to the "changing designs of their athletic wear". Plus there's Sharapova.
Cricket, I've tried to watch it, just can't. Golf I like to play but never watch it. Some of the olympic sports like archery, fencing, curling.
I think the worst has to be that Equesterian Dressage at the Olympics. It's basically a horse walking in a certain way and dancing inside a box. From the Olympics website:
I just don't get it.The rider has to execute a predetermined test of movements within an arena 60 x 20m. This test proves the harmonious development of the physique and ability of the horse, as well as the harmony and perfect understanding between the rider and the horse.
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.
The balance between Men's and Women's tennis has swung firmly back in favour of the Men's game.
Women's has become boring as the Williams , Davenport, and to a lesser extent (and certainly not recently)Clijsters were far too mechanical. The Russians and Henin-Hardenne offer some hope but there is still a level of predictability and drabness that has come in since the demise of Hingis.
The Men's game hasn't looked this healthy for over a decade. Real variety in styles, one genius in Federer who can still be taken by most of the top ten on their day, and the quality in depth has really improved. Much better matches and the contrast between big hitters and more mobile players is actually more fun to watch now. The concept that big hitters is a recent phenomenon is a myth. Look at Rosco Tanner in the 70s, he served faster than Ivanisevic and with a wooden racquet. Quality always wins through and that's what we're seeing now quality players playing exciting tennis.

You've gotta be kidding. Women's tennis is in it's healthiest state ever. Not only are most of the elite performers stunning to look at, but they also play at a high level and some great rivalries. You have the Williams' who are no longer unbeatable, the young Russians who are breaking through and then the Belgiums who can beat anyone on their day. It's way better than watching Federer winning anything worth a darn.Originally Posted by Aberdonian Stu

Grand Prix....Whats all that about? Snooze City
Cricket should be abolished as a sport. Ideal game for yupps watching it sipping English Afternoon Tea and nibbling cucomber sandwiches and clapping their hands to celebrate someone hitting the ball with a bat. The radio commentary of a cricket game is legendary; probably get more excitement broadcasting morning prayers from a convent.
Cricket is a fantastic sport! The only reason you lot hate it is, 1) It's played by English people, 2) you don't understand it. You need skill to play it, it's not just about chucking the ball at the bloke with the bat and him slogging it.Originally Posted by Thunderblaster
The most boring sport in the world has to be GAA. It's the biggest load of rubbish I've ever seen in my life. Yawn![]()
Rugby's rubbish as well, stop/start, give each other hugs whilst putting your hands through players legs and to top it all, a stupid shaped ball!
The best sport, after football, has to be womens synchronized swimming-for obvious reasons!![]()
Football is life. The rest is mere detail...
nonsense. cricket is a great sport, I'll admit some of the longer test games can get a bit boring at times, but I've seen some cracking games in my timeOriginally Posted by Thunderblaster

Actually, you're quite right... Mind you, what about making 'Wet T-Shirt competitions' an olympic sport? The arenas would be packed to the rafters!!Originally Posted by Gibbe84
