Considering that the new stand was just at its foundations at the first game between us, Christ it went up pretty quickly. Especially when I think back to the lenght it took us to get arses on seats in our "new" stand.
Yes the pitch has a good surface, sure why wouldn't it. It hardly experiences contact with a ball these days.
In fairness, Terryland has a pretty good setup these days. It will certainly be the best venue on the 1st division next season![]()
"Overwhelmed"
Pitch was immaculate, as always, in Terryland. Best in the EL by far.
As RT said, it's a credit to the Galway FA, fair play to them!
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
yeah, terryland IMO is probably one of the finest grounds in the league, a credit to them the way it went up so fast in 5 months or so aswell...took that long for our turnstiles to be put in i think
The Galway FA do nothing to keep Terryland as good as it is.
For years it's had the best pitch in the Country and now is only 2nd to Turners as one of the best stadiums IMO.This is down to our groundsman Noel Connoly who's done a brillaint job.

Its a joint development between the Galway F.A. and Galway United but none of those grants would have been handed over if it wasnt an el ground.
The pitch and ground are a credit to both bodies and all the people who worked for the last 15 years in getting it to where it is today.

Disappointing diaplay Friday but no point wallowing in it,Derry Saturday so hopefully we can return to winning ways.
Must say very impressed with a lot of things in Terryland.I was down there for the Connaght cup final in May and ther must have only been about 10-12 steps of the terrace in place and in 3 months its finished.Heard there is offices to rent in teh back of it.So good business.
Pitch was a carpet probably the best surface in the LOI and great sound system going on, up to date tunes great public announcer, ground was spotless.
Off the pitch they seem to have it all sewn up.Fair play
Fair Play To Yee . Yee Have The Best Ground In The Eircom League By A Mile And That Includes Turners Cross. I Know For A Fact That Yee Dont Have The Same Problems In Getting Finance Togeather In Galway As We Do In Sligo. There Is A Lot More Wealth About Galway And Bigger Population. I Do Hope That Yee Stay In Premier Division As Yee Have Good Support. There Is Only One Way And That Is Up For Yee. Our Secret Is That We Have An Excellent Manager And We Are Not Finished Yet This Season But Watch Us Next Season. By The Way There Is A Big Sligo Rovers Supporter Working Very Hard Behind The Scenes For Galway (cause He Lives In Galway) But Is Very Much Involved In The Financial End Of Things. Thats The Way The Cookie Crumbles (no Pun Intended)
AFAIK Conor, Noel Connolly is an employee of the Galway FA not GUFC. But you are dead right to say that its in its current state due to the fact that United are resident there and also the fact that both the FA and United have joined forces to bring it forward. The pitch in T Cross is no where near as good as Terryland. Very uneven in spots. The only pitch that was as good as Terryland that Ive seen was St Francis' ground in Baldonnell years ago (but no facilities of course)

Red Army, I've read this seven times and I still can't make head or tail of it.
If the truth be known, we'd rather own our stadium than be tenants. The Galway FA, who owns Terryland, are also shareholders of Galway United FC (25% I think). The lease is long with the rent is nominal . Many other Clubs don't own their ground (Cork, Derry, Waterford, Limerick, Shams) so it's not unusual. Terryland was a dump for many a long year and was always in the shade of the Showgrounds until recently.
PS Why is the TV gantry in the new stand in Sligo? Viewers miss out on seeing the lovely new stand. Perhaps it has something to do with the sunlight that shines in the faces of people in the old stand!
Nobody knows us, we don't care
