WUM, clearly just takeing the p!ss. And on the half chance that you arent, your wrong and your Premiership branded and packaged style of football will never come over here. the LOI is too unpopular and only the few thousand zealots that continue going to games have the diametrically opposed opinion of yours, so you lose my friend. The drums and megaphones will be going for a long time more, and this is the best part, the trust have actually ordered a megaphone, me and 'the 'not so decent' class of people will have lots of fun with that.![]()

Back on topic, clubs here should be trying to incorporate safe standing either to one of the German models (which I really can't believe some of them are that much more than normal seats) or should simply incorporate terrace areas into their grounds. The obsession with having a ground which is 100% open for what is for most clubs a handful of European games a decade, never mind a season, is ridiculous.
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

Donnybrook is a far worse ground than several LOI grounds. And has never rocked once for a european game, when it hosted them in the past. Having gone to every Leinster rugby game in Europe for 3 years I can safely say the armosphere has been deplorable, and thats with booze being consumed.
The fact you use the word soccer proves you couldn't possibly be a football fan.

What corporate facilities? A marquee thats set up on the day? Any club could have that. As it is the bars in Tolka, Oriel, Dalymount and others are all betterAs for donnybrook being worse.. what EL grounds have the corporate facilities of Donnybrook?
and real football fans would never do that...And using the word soccer so what? Its to make sure nobody confuses it with GAA

Also add to the fact that most eL clubs would get much larger average attendances than the leinster and munster ''brands'' bar the few big games they will play
The LoI clubs based near Munster/Leinster/Connaught rugby all have better facilites anyway![]()
Just because you can afford something dosent mean you have to go out and buy it.
Fair enough if someone wants to sit in a corporate box behind glass having an overpriced drink/meal. But to call them proper fans is pushing a little dont you think? 99.999% of these types have no interest in the match, simply its an (overpriced) day out for them, same as the dogs, horse racing, the dublin horse show, latter stages of GAA championships and the Heiniken Cup

Thats not what I said, I simply stated that most people in corporate areas have more interest in spending money than actually being at the match, which is true. While I personally have never been to a corporate facility I have seen and heard for myself what they are like. Fair enogh if thats the way you like to watch football then good luck to you.
Just dont go off claiming to be better than people who 'wear tracksuits' and stand at a match, and saying other idiotic rubbish about players rifling balls at singing sections etc.
Once again your point about money is really petty to be honest, so what if someone has it, they dont have to rent/buy a corporate box etc. for the day to show off. Do these people travel the length and breath of England to watch their club? Thought not![]()
I'll agree with this.
The idea that anybody who is in a corporate box CANNOT be a real fan is silly. A fan who decides to spend their money to make the experience more comfortable, at the expense of some atmosphere, doesn't automatically lose the right to be called a true fan.
But the problem is what you say yourself about some of those in corporate boxes -
Those people are not real fans in any way.
How many people in the stands or on the terraces will give the same reasons as you've given above, as a reason they go to games. Not many.
I'm certain a far higher percentage of those in the terraces/stands care more about the result than those in the corporate boxes.
