My best movie of 2007
Although I haven't yet seen all of the fancied films yet, I doubt if they can touch
"The Lives of Others" about the Stasi imposed control on East German society. Gerd, the Stasi agent, reminded me a bit of David Kelly (weapons inspector), a true believer in the system.
It's long, it's slow, it's absolutly soaked in desolute East German stalanist empty brown athmosphere, it's subtitled and it's just brilliant.
Hollywood has commisioned another version
Next most enjoyable was "Darjeeling Limited" which I thought might have been about a train journey in India.
"Eastern Promise" worth it for Viggo Mortenson.
My worst, irredeemably lost 90 minutes, "Death Sentence" with Kevin Bacon
I've seen it in HMV up until recently so I think it's readily available. Easily the best movie of last year too
Saw "I Am Legend" last night, thought it was good at times but was expecting it to be better. Made me jump a couple of ties though! Poor Ending.
Will Smith is cool.
Cmon County!
brotherhood of the wolf
the wicker man (original version)
delicatessen, (good horror/comedy set in post acpocalyptic french town)
Just watched Days of Glory there good show

id recommend Atonement, just finished watchin and great film.
and incase anyone hasnt mentioned it.......... 'The Last King Of Scotland'
Same here, I enjoyed it but I was expecting better from the trailers and the story they had to work with. No fault of Smiths to be honest, my main issues were with the unneccessary, and horrible looking, CGI and the weak ending. It looks like a movie that could get a good DVD makeover with a directors cut, ala Bladerunner and Kingdom of God.
Picked it up for €13 in HMV at the weekend if anyone is looking
Got the Hitchcock boxset from HMV off Santa.
Each dvd is brilliant.
Love it.
Only e40 now in HMV for 12 or 13 films.
Get it.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.
O'Bama - "Eerah yeah, I'd say we can alright!"
G.O'Mahoney Trapattoni'll sort ém out!!
That sounds good value.
My favourite is "Lifeboat".
The Kite Runner is worth a look if you can tolerate subtitles.

Lars Von Trier's Riget
The Kingdom (Riget) is the most technologically advanced hospital in Denmark, a gleaming bastion of medical science. A rash of uncanny occurrences, however, begins to weaken the staff's faith in science--a phantom ambulance pulls in every night, but disappears; voices echo in the elevator shaft; and a pregnant doctor's fetus seems to be developing much faster than is natural. At the goading of a spiritualist patient, some employees work to let supernatural forces rest.

An extremely good documentary film on the breakup of Yugoslavia from the perspective of the national team
Kom Igen, FCK...
Downfall is on Network Two tonight at half nine. For anyone with an interest in the Nazis and Hitler, this film is essential viewing. It's amazing.
Another film I love is on tonight as well at 11.55 on TV3. Pootie Tang. It's absolutely hilarious.
