No.
As I said, it's an obscure gold medal issued by the IOC to Ireland but it has got an equine aspect to it.
Dodge, I will dig out the official press release from the time.As it was long before the internet it is a hard copy.
It is listed in the book issued by the OCI some years back and again Id have to root around the attic to get at it.

In fact, I think I should get both parachutes, in case one doesn't work.

Was this the girl from the news last night? Shane O'Donoghue tried to interview here on 9 o clock news.
Shane: "How are you feeling"
Girl on horse: "There are a pack of *******s home in Ireland trying to ruin me".
It was the most unexpected outburst I've ever seen on the news. Doesn't deserve to be an olympian
The glass isn't half full or half empty it's just too damn big!
What was the name of Cian O'Connor's horse, who's the majority shareholder of that company, and who actually brought the horse for his godson?
Incidentally, iirc the problems weren't over the drugging at all, but around alledged influence on team selections, training methods and the like. It was the media (dominated by whom?) who made the connection with the failed drug test (again iirc). I think one of Kruetons (sp?) horses failed a drug test year's before the Olympics.
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
as somebody once said "The olympics, a waste of good drugs"
Irish horses have won something like 50 Olympic medals over the years (counting in team medals). An Irish rider has yet to medal. I think you'd have to go back to the 20s or 30s to find an Olympic Games where an Irish horse didn't win a medal of some sort.
So it ain't the horses.
While the Irish Sport Horse is no longer sought after as a showjumper, it's still the no.1 Eventing horse in the world and has held that position since the WFSHB started keeping rankings. The last 2 Gold medal winners in eventing where mounted on Irish bred horses, Custom Made in 2000 and Shear L'eau in 2004 (and the horse that should have won the gold in 2004 but for a stupid disqualification, Ringwood Cockatoo, was also Irish bred).
What is interesting however, is that ISH's position at the top of rankings over the last couple years has been mostly due to the influence of a "foreign" stallion, the German bred Holsteiner, Cavalier Royale.
If you're talking about TBs, then their nationality is determined by where they are foaled. So any TB with an IRE after his name was born in Ireland.
If you're talking about sporthorses, all the horses I was refering to re the Olympics were bred in Ireland.

Baku!! F*ckin Azerbaijan!
They'll be extreme outsiders but fair play to them for giving it a go.
