Martinez saying 10 weeks now...

It's probably 6 weeks before he gets back into light training, and 8-10 total.
Well Sky sports news are saying it could be ten weeks. Thats probably the maximum of what it will be. Fingers crossed he will be back before that.
Seems to me the incident has been somewhat overblown, if nothing is broken it can be hard do tell how bad it is.
He should have a good idea himself within a week or so. If nothing is severed it probably won't take too long to sort itself out.

"It is a little bit better than we thought at first but it is obviously ligament damage in the right ankle," added Martinez.
"When it is swollen it is sometimes difficult to assess but there is no fracture, we hope."
"He has been sensational," stated Martinez. "Sometimes it is hard to understand the age of James.
"He plays with a great maturity and understanding and the level of performance has been so consistent for a young man it shows you the quality he has got.

Martinez press conference on Sky Sports: http://www.skysports.com/video/inlin...468411,00.html
Ragin' this kid is going to miss the November friendly. Guess we'll have to wait til February!
I would worry that he might not figure in the Celtic Cup, if Trap takes it seriously enough to avoid experimentation -as is his wont.
Uruguay friendly so. I hope he gets invited to Norway regardless to be with the squad like they did for Maguire.

Martinez revealed it could now be as long as 12 weeks before James McCarthy, who suffered ankle ligament damage after being tackled by Bolton Wanderers' Fabrice Muamba last Saturday, is fit for selection again.
"The whole joint needs a bit of work and the medial ligament is ruptured completely," Martinez said.
"We expect it to be between 10 and 12 weeks before we see James back. We have to reconstruct the joint just to make sure the ligament heals well and to make sure there are no further problems. We are still making the final decision on what is going to be the best way to go about the first three weeks of the rehab, but there is no fracture of the bone, which is what we feared a little bit before."

Hoping to be back before the end of January. Could have been a lot worse I suppose

I wonder why does Martinez think he will come back stronger and probably physically in a better situation, than he was before the injury.
Just in time for the Nations Cup!
