All over now. Overall, McCarthy did well for his first team debut. He's comfortable on the ball, works very hard and can play anywhere in midfield (although I wouldn't put him on the wing by choice). My only negative would be that he looked knackered at the end, so he'll probably need to improve the fitness.
Not sure he's quite ready for a full international debut, although I have no doubt that he'll definitely be in the squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
the missed penalty in the first half was given for a foul on McCarthy.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
any player that hasnt played 90 minutes for a long time is always knackered at the end. that will improve with more matches
