I'm not trying to rag on the SPL, but I mean seriously, have you ever sat down to watch St. Mirren vs. Aberdeen? I would rather watch Millwall vs. Leeds.
I could probably play at left back for Celtic against some SPL clubs, even on crutches with my broken ankle![]()

The quicker we cap this kid the better.....Scotland want him back!
LESS OF THE BULL NOW!
Swansea end interest in McCarthy: http://www.football365.com/story/0,1...350217,00.html
I have seen it nowhere else today, but the Sun said that he has signed for Burnley.

Might actually suit him, going to a team with the right philosophy.
goal.com are usually way off on these matters, it's a suspending offence on some forums to post a rumour from them!
Case in point Sky Sports says the Accies have rejected the bid: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...407677,00.html
I know goal.com is very very suspect, as is the the Sun. Just thought id let people know. But take it with a serious pinch of salt.
How come none of the bigger clubs want to take a shot at this kid? Even like a New Castle or something?
Yep what I have read is that Burnley have made an offer but turned down , I would say this is just the start as if Coyle wants yer man he will get himHey the Clarets have loads of money

They say Burnley offered £750k, which was flatly rejected by Hamilton.
What does that say, 1.2 m might seal it?
If there are no other clubs, then an EPL club for at least one season with a good manager might well be a good move for a young kid.
Would he get onto Burnley's starting team?
I would say he would start off second string as the midfield has some shape to it with McDonald, McCann, Blake and Eagles also with Alexander in front of the back four . But if the lad shows well he will get a spot in the side , Burnley just have to sign him first .![]()
Forget playing for a crap team like Burnley. They'll struggle to hit thirty points this season in the Premiership.
He should go somewhere like QPR or Ipswich, clubs with big money and big ambition behind them. He doesn't need to waste a year sitting on the bench at a bigger club.
Two words for ye claret, relegation fodder
only messin![]()
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Right lets be honest .
This will be a big move for the lad if it comes off , I don't expect him to take up the midfield roll just yet . How good is he really , well not sure .
If he Picks to go to Burnley he will be well looked after as they are a small club and still a very small squad he will get a chance I am sure of that .
One thing which any move would be good for him is that he will get away from the abuse he get up in Scotland having picked to play for Ireland instead of his country of birth .
News has broken today that Burnley are looking at a full back form Accis also I very much think that it will be a double deal as long as the lad wants to come to Burnley . A lot of people have faith in Owen Coyle I reallt do think he knows what he is doing .
I actually think Claret that Burnley are capable of surprising a few people next season. They are a young team with a very capable manager. Their form in both cups last year suggests that they are capable of beating Premiership teams in one off games so they should be able to pick up a few wins here and there. There look to be poorer teams in the Premiership to me.
Of course it all depends on how their young players adapt to the Premiership. Some might find it a step too far while others may turn out to be more than capable of rising to the challenge of playing there.

I think Burnley have every chance of staying up. Who would have seen Hull staying up last year, or Stoke finishing in mid table? Personally i feel all three that came up could stay up this season. Lot of muck in the Premiership this season, Hull, Bolton, Portsmoth, Wigan.
