I dunno... McCarthy has already shown how headstrong he is by declaring for us in the first place in the face of such pressure and hostillity. I suspect he's no fear in standing his ground against Trapp. The fact that the "Tired" thing came up again. That was a jab. Something was said last time. I think he'll play for us, just not under Trapp.
Trapp has this no nonsense, I say it as I see it, like it or lump it, my way or no way attitude... Where is he??The Big Brother House?? Nah. Some level of diplomacy is required when you're managing a team with limited playing resources. At this stage of his career he should be well able for loaded questions from the media too. He simply has no regard for what he says.
Sunday Times Paul Rowan asked Willie McCarthy, father of the player, if there was any personal issue with Trap.
“That is rubbish,” he said. “Hopefully, Mr Trapattoni will pick James for Macedonia and he will play.
“I don’t understand where all this is coming from. James has made his mind up and he is not going to change it.”
Lets talk about six baby
WHAT?? How can people not understand where it's coming from? It's ill advised comments from both managers is where it's coming from...
Have you just bought Rumsfelds autobiography?

Tony O'Donohue commented on Trap's "unfair" handling of the situation, but I can't access the RTE Player file.
Anyone got the jist of what he was saying?
Unless they're holding something back, the bit about him making himself available for the Macedonia squad seems to be based on his Dad's comments rather than those of the player himself.
At the moment things seem set up for a showdown between Trap and Martinez come the next squad announcement. What are the chances Trap will choose to respect his Wigan counterpart's wishes? Reasonably high I'd say.
Hmm, that video appears to have disappeared. Let's hope Tony hasn't suffered the same fate.

Nothing new really that has not already appeared in other sports media. Ridiculous dig at Trapatonni in the last paragraph with To'd saying Sporting Fingal could have survived on a quarter of Trapatonni's wages. I think its fair to say at this stage that no journalist knows what is going on and they are all either drinking in the same pub swapping stories or just cut and pasting stuff.
